Hey there,
I’m glad to be here and thank you @MJ DeMarco.
Now my introduction: As the title may indicate, I studied psychology (in germany) and will get my therapist-license in the next year. There is a long and expensive education after the Master and I recognized, even if I like the therapeutic work, there is no way to achieve my goals and live the life I want with beeing settled down as a psychotherapist.
That was dissappointing to see - but also the start of my journey in 2019 to another perspective. I started listening to podcasts on my way to underpaid work, reading books about financial things. I got educated a lot and growed my growth mindset ;-) I started first ideas on entrepreneurship and wondered if I could work online as a psychologist (first I didn’t dare to think much outside the box).
I read the Millionaire Fastlane in my vacation a few days ago and there is one thing, that really solved a dilemma for me: As trying business ideas, I always made sure, that my work in itself is purely ehtic and a „world-changer“, but I learned, that the Fastlane-Business itself doesn’t need to fit all the high standards (beeing also fun and take advantage of my talents), instead the Business is the way to give me the freedom, to do all the good things and start projects.
One of my challenges right now is to figure out, how I will continue the psychotherapy and I can imagine to do it like one day in a week and „not because of money“, more like a thing, I like to do and get the freedom to do it with my fastlane-business. Also I think the therapeutic work is better done, when the therapist ist not having 7 patients in a row… The ongoing business I have might not fit the CENTS-Rules… I had a new idea on the plane way home, will figure it out.
To end a bit philosophic: I think as a human beeing one part of our daily activities should include the consideration about our existence, how we can make the world a better place and I think there will be more time and calmness for it, when getting financial freedom and independency. And I don’t wanna wait till I am 80.
Greets, Alex
