So, that title looks like a dating ad or something lol. Anyway, I'm a senior developer with lot of experience on web development, I have always worked for somebody else, and had been contacted to work at PayPal, TopTal, etc... I have rejected many offers and chose to work on a remote position so I could be "kinda free"... but I want to truly be free, so here I am, seeing what I can do to develop some passive income to allow me to be just that... really money free.
I'm a busy developer, meaning I win money per hour and work 8 hours a day (since I live in a third world country I don't make as much as other senior developers... I could probably win a lot more in another country), so my first goal is to replace that money... but also have fun doing it.
My plan to 10 years is to develop some great tools that allow me to replicate my success, since I'm a developer I see all that things that could help optimize business, knowing more about how, why and when somebody converted for example... but also being a developer means I have more fun doing the architecture and software than actually the business part most of the time, that's my main road block.
Anyway, I'm here and have some plans, I'm thinking on doing things oriented to developers as clients, since that's what I know more. If someone is interested on some help in exchange of learning and experience, considering I only have a few hours a day would be great!
So my plan goes something like this, i have a small goal for the end of the year, to make something around $500 to $1000 (more can be, but I said a small goal) passive on one or various sites. Currently I'm using AWS (Amazon Web Services) with a free trial for a year, 2 NodeJS sites for static content (articles, etc), and some development to create a great tool to help me optimize and make more money every week, tech is power... think in lot of analytics and data from the customers.
Of course the plan is not to develop for 5 years a technology and then win $1, so I'm starting to write content, mainly affiliate links in it, about things people already want, oriented to developers, I just got started last week so nothing there yet.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, maybe I can help the community, and of course learn a lot from it!
