I saw this on Digg recently and thought I'd share:
1. Back up your MySQL database regularly
2. Take extra measures to secure your wp-admin folder
3. Don’t display your WordPress version number publicly
4. Keep your WordPress installation up to date
5. Don’t use (or better yet, remove) the default "admin" username
6. Encrypt your WordPress-related cookies
7. Use a strong password(*)
8. Change your WordPress database table prefix from default settings
9. Use correct file permissions on your WordPress files
10. Limit what search engine spiders can index
11. Use secured connections for accessing WordPress Admin pages
12. Lock down world-access to your wp-config.php file
link
(*) There was a recent article on Slashdot.org that talked about how using "strong" passwords may not be as helpful as once thought.
