If you are relying on a handful of holidays to produce your income you already playing a losing game. That said to specifically answer your question, start a greenhouse. I have a friend who is part owner at one and he does well.

Sell gift boxes to everyone selling flowers or teddy bears! Then find people selling chocolates and sell them too!

I think a lot of people didn’t understand what the phrase selling shovels means.

It is not just to be a service supplier of other businesses in a hot field.

When bike sharing is hot, a lot of bike factories had huge sales. When bike sharing went down the factories went down too. They didn’t make it like shovel sellers.

Gold prospecting is highly speculative. The advice is ask you not to engage in speculative activities and provide a service to speculators.

It is like being the casino to provide poker tables for gamblers to bet against one another.

The house always win.

Big techs are spending huge money to join the AI arm race. Nvidia us clearly the winner.

Crypto exchange owners are much richer than top crypto investors/traders.

This means you need to climb up the food chain to have much better reward to risk ratio for your endeavors. This also means you have to spend longer time to tackle a harder problem.

Chose hard.

You're missing his point. Seasonal business success is one-in-a-billion.

The Halloween Town/Halloween City are essentially once-a-year pop-ups that DO rake in lots and lots of cash. But they are masters of logistics, hiring seasonal workers, finding rundown abandoned buildings to set up in, and so much more.

If you want a sustainable business that will produce an income, replace your job, and someday become a power house (if you want that) -- it's 1,000x easier to just sell something people buy every day... not once a year.

Start a flower shop. Sell flowers every day. Sell more on Valentine's Day.

But you can't build a sustainable business based on outliers. (Clearly there are exceptions)

Not to mention Jacob Davis had a general store during the time... and he specifically went out and bought all the shovels... and then he ran ads that said there was gold in the hills... AND reportedly even ran down the street yelling he found gold.

When everyone came looking for shovels and picks... guess where they were... his general store.

Him and Levi Strauss manufactured that entire situation. Brilliant marketing. Pretty shady, though.

A guy wanted to come out of his shell and probably wanted to taste entrepreneurship at the root level during a peak season of a few days, maybe find some space to test his gut and grab some sales ...

and I see people pounding him with declarations that he should discard his attempts to pursue a unicorn!

Heck, no side hustle should be looked down upon!

Sounds like people who run ads/blogs/posts to sell their course! LOL

I respect this opinion, au contraire:
100,000$+/year for 2-3 weeks of purchases.
