I've struggled with weight for most of my life. Not to the point of extreme obesity, but I was a chunky child and as an adult have been mostly 20-40 pounds overweight.
At this point in time I'm 210 pounds at 6'0. Once again, not obese, but I'm not happy with my weight.
My weight has fluctuated over the years. Back in university in 2012 I was the fittest I've ever been, lean at 160 pounds with visible abs.
In 2021 I got down to 182, which put my weight in the healthy bmi range. I did this by eating a deficit of 1000 calories (I'd mostly eat one meal + a bowl of popcorn + carrots).
I got up to 240 in 2024, but then started doing fasting and got down to 200.
My family are all really into junk food and I'm the skinniest of all of them, but my habits have eroded over time as I've succumbed to eating cake and chocolate and ice cream whenever they do.
Just like I'd like business success, I'd also like to finally get my weight below 182 and stay there. I've made a lot of excuses and have pigged out frequently, but life without the comfort of tasty food is often very harsh. Food calms down my nerves and makes me feel relaxed and calm.
Any thoughts and perspectives? I'd love to hear from people who have been able to achieve a healthy weight and stay there.
