Kind of old news but Capital One bought Discover.

Bad news as I’m really not a fan of them. Their rewards are not bad but I just don’t like how they do business. Discover is supposed to be this old school kind of card.

The same thing happened when Capital One bought Ing Bank way back when. It was this cool online bank/brokerage then it went to zero.

The article can say it's a far right whatever, the french girl I've just met tells me France is full of immigrants and the french people are almost a minority already, and not just in Paris but even in her smaller city up north.

Germany occupied France after killing 1.5% of the French population. France is now 10% Muslim. I expect civil war in France, probably initiated by Nationalists taking down the power-grid.

Strange how when Germans invaded, their propaganda said France would be occupied by muslims. Lo and behold, they were defeated and France is now occupied by muslims in every city.

Why would "nationalists" take down their own country's power grid, makes no sense.

I'm from Germany as well. The turkish live here for almost a century, and have nothing to do with the recent immigrations.

However a simple look at stats tells a different story.

Pretty much all statistics, especially those for crimes, went down over the last few years, and not up like what the right-wing political party tries to sell people. And mind you that right and left are somewhat different here in Germany than in the US.

The political system here is way more complex and not as black/white (or left/right). We have several parties and most of them are pretty in the centre of the policial spectrum. So a party being overly right or left is usually an extreme party here and not comparable to the US.

Left of Center - Hard right nationalist
Center - Hard right nationalist

Pissed off and independent ... Hard right nationalist.

I had Discover, Capital One is a huge fan of me for the car loans and cards I had with them.

Now I don't use either. I do have one CC I took with Capital One to use Flex to pay my rent in half. They didn't like it and each transaction was classified as a Cash Advance. So I stopped using the strategy and use straight out cash now.

Yeah, this seems about right, as far as I can tell looking in from the outside.

Unfortunately those extreme views started to seep into our media portrayal of politics as well... a few years ago most people, especially the younger ones, didn't give a F*ck about politics. We voted, sure, but everything was running pretty smooth and we used to be pretty centered on the political spectrum. Nobody really talked about who to vote, let alone show extreme beliefs, with some being the exception of course.

I'm trying to book a trip to key west but I can't find anything with a stove under $200 / night.. just a mini-fridge and microwave.

(stove rental business to airbnb owners to give them a competitive advantage over others in the area? a place in high end vacation spots where people can come to cook their food?)

The reason this is valuable is because it saves you from needing to eat out every night on vacation (which can just be flat out unhealthy)

Or maybe a public self serve kitchen, where you pay for the amount of hours you are planning to use it. You get access to a fully equipped kitchen and can cook whatever you want.

Oh, and also a cool additional feature could be ingredient pre ordering, so that you can pre order all ingredients you need for the meal you are planning to cook without having to think about going to the grocery stores and buying everything yourself.

The Baby Boom in America lasted from the end of WW2 (1946) to the beginning of the Civil Rights riots (1964). During that time, the future never looked better for Americans, and they made a lot of babies. If Western governments made their people feel optimistic about the future, the low birthrate problem would go away.

I just found out the world's largest robot fighting league is like 20 minutes from where I live.

I am just poking fun at you.

Even though this is a random thought section you are derailing too much into inflammatory politics and soon the admin might be forced to take some action.

This is MJ’s business forum after all.

It has nothing to do with what they think about your politics but what outsiders think about this forum.

For people who surfed net a lot and are old enough to remember there was a political forum who love to say the same things that you are parroting. Their webhost was forced to shut down the website.

I have been plant based for a good 5 months I think now, but I have made an exception tonight, as my nanna who passed away made me her signature sausage curry months ago and I just froze it at the time as I went vegan.

But as she's now passed, I will have it as a toast to her cooking, and to her.

Glad I spent time with her in her final moments and snuck in a beer for her at the hospital. She said she would love a beer, and me and my brother went on a smuggling mission. She smashed it down like a champion.

I knew it would be hard seeing a loved one like that, but I would have regretted it. At least she knew we loved her very much, and we were with her till the end.

When you are in this situation people, I encourage you to grab yourself by the balls (or imaginary balls if you are a lady) and do what you know in your heart is right.

Go see them, you won't ever see them again in this world. If you are on your death bed, I think you would appreciate the people you love being there with you and comforting you.

I've seen dead bodies before, so that wasn't that bad, but seeing someone you love dying and struggling, was a new experience. But I guess, we will all go through it. The main thing is she didn't suffer much at all, which is good.

You see some people and it's like torture, almost feels humane to smother them with a pillow to end their suffering. Thankfully this wasn't that bad.
