Third stage of the social world is here! Agree?

I will make this simple but I believe it explains the subject very well:

1000 AD - Monarchs - they ruled over and protected citizens
1436: Invention of printing press
1600's - English philosophers - thought of "Pursuit of Happiness".
1776: Declaration of Independence in America
1776: Democracy - citizens ruled and protected themselves against monarchs and others
Circa: 1991: Public internet access
2011: Arab Spring - could not have happened with the internet
202?: The Third Stage. People living and creating their own life without interference from anyone - do whatever you want, as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of anyone else.

As you can see the above historical timeline is the interfacing of technology with the social world. Without the printing press there would have been no American Revolution therefore no democracy. Today we are on the brink of the 3rd stage. Share the best information. Help your neighbor everywhere. Be the person you want the world to be. Be part! Do you agree?

What part of the last 20 months makes you think this will even remotely happen?

Have you been living under a rock the last 2 years?

Entire countries (and their populations) have had their freedoms reduced to the likes of North Korea. They can't even leave their country, buy groceries, or go to a concert. But yea, we're on the verge of some great enlightenment.

We should be following medical science, not politicians. There is way too much political theater and that needs to stop. Be part of that change.

Is this really the case? Go to China and tell there that the human rights of the Uighurs are violated or have a US-American app on your phone installed. Go to Russia and tell there that Crimea belongs to Ukraine. Go to Donezk and carry 100 dollars with you or drive a nice car. Go to Afghanistan (especially problematic for women) and speak English over there. Go to Belarus and speak Belarussian or wear some white and red shirts or a white-red-white flag. Go to North Korea and tell that Kim Jong Un is a dictator that has to be dismissed. In any case you will most likely be either arrested, sent to a concentration camp or killed.

That's why we need to stop every violation of all people's rights wherever they are in the world. This can be done and I believe it can be done peacefully. However, some people will never give up their unjust power (it's that good) but those people are very few and we can certainly ask them to step down or be "escorted" down.

What's happened in the last 20 months is a phenomenal lesson! The lesson is: We should never, ever allow anyone to violate the rights of anyone, anywhere. China covers up, and/or worse, a serious contagious disease, covid. Other governments are unprepared and make many mistakes.

The "backbone" of society is public safety - we need professional and trusted safety officers. We need to create a culture where everyone shares good information so no one has to resort to violating anyone else rights.

The idea of education needing to be the old medieval lecture model has been thoroughly dispelled. Education is simply handling oneself successful in this world - do whatever you want as long as it doesn't violate the rights of others.

We are not at the third stage yet - we just need to tip in in the rights direction.

Indeed, voting in dictatorships is not very useful. Still, dismantling police states and dictatorships does not happen only because of luck but because people are willing to overthrow their governments. In Ukraine, people achieved this in 2004 during the Orange Revolution and in 2014 during the Revolution of Dignity. If millions and billions of people are willing to step out of their comfort zones and to fight for their freedom, everything is possible.

Although I disagree with what you said in the first post, and all other posts that are sarcastic and actual facts are true, I appreciate how optimistic you are as this is very rare to find

Agree. I recently watched "How to become a tyrant" on Netflix. Probably one of the best documentary ever watched. We need to be aware that democracy is not something we should take for granted.

I do think the last two years has changed the narrative on Social Media and that we are entering a new phase but not the one that the author of this thread has identified.

There was a surge in social media use and hours spent on platforms during the lockdowns. That is now receding and it's becoming more common for people to have little to no social media.

More and more famous people are putting up barriers, having a team manage their social instead of them spending all day giving people insights into their lives.

We also have way more people leaving platforms like Facebook.

For every person who leaves these platforms it creates a ripple effect in the community as other people have to use different methods to contact them and stay in touch. Thus spending less time on the original social platform and making it easier for them to leave as the roots aren't as deep in one place anymore.

I have also seen a lot of people turn their Instagram accounts private and reduce the amount of accounts that they follow. It seems the Gary V effect of "POST SO MUCH CONTENT" has flooded everyone's feeds and turned everyone into their own brand. There is so much more noise and people are tired of it.

You are right, but I think it is also because those social media platforms are censoring content that is shared, even that one that is not by any means bad.

I still have feeling that it will be worse, I dont know if anyone seen the documentary "Conspiracy theory of everything", but when I try to search it Google or Youtube, the main search results do not show it. Why? Is it true? Why do they block it?

The difference between search results on Google and DuckDuckGo is ridiculous, same exact words and results are totally different. People are underestimating power of media, they can say anything, and mass of people believe it, even when it must not be true.

Sometimes I think how would it be if those platforms werent there. You see a lot of BS information that is repeated until people are crazy about it, in this corona time its even more obvious.

As of now, those are the same thing.

Some of us have seen the gorilla in the room for years, and it is as obvious as the people tossing the balls.

Today if you point out the gorilla in the room, you're a conspiracy theorist, a wacko, or someone who needs to be cancelled.

I still have feeling that it will be worse, I dont know if anyone seen the documentary "Conspiracy theory of everything", but when I try to search it Google or Youtube, the main search results do not show it. Why? Is it true? Why do they block it?

Everyone missed the point that it's not "What will the future look it?"; it's "This is how it will look like.". We can actually create the future by our actions. The fundamentals are there: Technology and the fact that most people are decent.
