Uff, got my first bit of negative feedback from my work that I've had in a long time. A woman sent me an email telling me that a staff member had given her the wrong flavour and she'd only realised when she got home. Very small thing really, unless there are allergies involved, but it always feels like a dodged bullet when they tell you directly rather than plaster it online as a google review and it gives you a big chance to win a customer back.

As for the problem, easy fix really: make sure that the shop manager brings the new specials to the attention of the staff at the start of the shift.

Honestly, take the bullet and just send them a free product and apologize for the mistake. Best way to go about it imo.

Yep, done those two things already. It’s just about making sure it doesn’t happen again.

Read an article and went down the rabbit hole a bit... here's the link if you want to read it.

New study associates intake of dairy milk with greater risk of breast cancer: Evidence suggests consistently drinking as little as one cup per day may increase rate of breast cancer up to 50%

1620198813981.png

Ok, maybe it makes sense... but here's another article that boasts of the benefits of milk,

1620199184544.png
Bias? Is someone getting paid off to sell this information? Beats me.

A few nights ago I did a 15km hike and was thinking about diet stuff, and created a little conspiracy theory in my head. There might actually be a cure out there for cancer, but it hasn't been released since it's way to profitable to treat cancer patients.

''As cancer survival rates rise, so do the price tags of life-saving treatments. Monthly drugs costs may reach $100,000, causing many Americans to struggle with the physical and emotional effects of high out-of-pocket medical costs. Even worse, others are completely priced out of the hope for a cure.''

Ok make sure your tin foil hat is on to protect you from the aliens that are scrambling your brains with the wifi connection (trust me they ARE watching) but what if these dairy companies were actually poisoning us (or any food companies for that matter) and making us sick on purpose while getting money from these doctors/hospitals? Kind of like commission based sales where you give the hospitals sick patients in exchange for payouts?

Yeh it sounds crazy but hey, I told you to put the hat on! Think about all the brainwashing and lies that go on in the world. All of us here on the forum are aware of the college and career scam, why the hell does it cost 6 figures to learn some trade yet governments can pay trillions of dollars on paid education and wages for the military but when some guy needs a band aid from the hospital it costs $50k? (ok I might of exaggerated a bit)

1620199785803.png

Maybe just like the college scam, we are all being scammed with food. Lately I've been buying a bit more fruits and vegetables but thinking about it, especially since I've been very vigilante on the ingredients and whatnot, I've noticed some of my food comes from across the globe.

Bananas, Ecuador
Strawberries, California...

Oh yeh, what the hell is the difference between organic and non organic? You mean I have the privilege of spending more money on a food that is NOT sprayed with pesticides, like you know, chemicals that kills bugs!? What? And genetically modified stuff!? Uh........... So is that why my strawberries are almost the size of my hand?!?

What is a GMO? Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are living organisms whose genetic material has been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.

I recall MJ talking about the pharmaceutical industry which is a huge mind blower when you look into it, depression? Take a pill, anxiety? Take a pill. It just makes sense the amount of money you can make selling solutions to crap like that.

With my tin foil hat conspiracy theory about the food industry.......maybe, just maybe it isn't exactly to crazy.

Wow what a rant!

As for the banana, strawberry thing, why does no company here in Canada step up and just make these foods indoors?

I can't see why you couldn't grow these somewhere in a garden here especially with the ease of setting up a greenhouse now a days. This is one of my unscripted goals, literally grow and make my own food. The thought of my strawberries being sprayed with who knows what and being transported across the country seems a bit strange to me.

Everyone should have their own garden, just like we take care of our bank accounts with unscripted thinking, our bodies need to be taken care of aswell.

I wonder if the word "milk" in that study should have quotation marks around it. I didn't see any mention of the source of their "dairy milk." Are we talking raw milk straight from the cow or are we talking highly processed, mostly sugar Highland Dairy and other store brands? I'd guess the latter.

Anyway, I just picked up some raw milk from our local farm. Best milk I've ever had. They jar it in glass jars that remind me of the milk jars in Zelda.

p305.png

I love the drive out to their farm to pick it up too. Met the family that does the farming. The father explained how they raise grass-fed cattle and free-range chickens and you have to avoid the chickens when you pull up because they're running all over the place.

It feels like a real, family-owned farm. A small farm. Not a big processing plant. To pick up your milk you go inside this old farmhouse that has a side room. There's nobody in there. You just get your milk out of the cooler and then put your money in a little bowl and take the proper amount of change.

It's my favorite place to go. Prices are about half the store cost on most items too.

FYI, if you can integrate the ideas of other people into a coherent whole, then you've created a very valuable resource.

Example: a website that organizes weightlifting, sleep, and nutrition advice from various experts who aren't associated with each other and charge a subscription for it.

Taking various open source (read free) software components and combining them into novel tools that solve important problems.

TLDR - You don't need to be that smart - if you can duct tape good ideas together, then you can make a lot of money.

"If you never have a single great idea in your life, but become skilled in executing in the great ideas of others, you can succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Seek them out, and make them work. They do not have to be your ideas - execution is all in this regard."

I think the reason why we fail to achieve our goals is that

1. we don't plan the actions that led to their achievement daily.
2. we leave room for distractions.

If i write down in my schedule "read the book, send the email, launch the campaign", I will do neither.

However, if I write down:

Wake up
Eat breakfast
Workout
Shower + cold shower
Go to office
Do task A, then B, then C, then D
Come home
Eat
Summarize book
Go have a walk with your friend
Continue summarizing book
Meditate
Go to sleep

Then you can be sure I will do everything, because everything has carefully been laid out and there is no room for distractions.

Until I get rid of my IG and YT addiction, this is how all of my days will look like.

I also printed a roaster for weekly goals and monthly goals.

Today ideas are free. You have people making newsletters and podcasts where the only thing they do is giving business ideas.

Execution, as you laid out correctly, is the last thing that matters. Everything else has been taught, told, written, said, communicated, laid out, and explained.

Replace dairy with pharma and you're on the right track. IIRC, big pharma influences US dietary guidelines.

Why would you trust the health advice of people who make a shitload of money from you being sick?

You trust them primarily because you have no choice and there is no alternative.

That's the rub.

It's like big tech... "Just start your own Facebook and Google, bro."

"Just start your own pharma company." Yeah... Those companies are barely *not* government.

Inside a South Carolina factory, in industrial vats that stand five stories high, batches of algae are carefully tended, kept warm and fed corn syrup. There the algae, known as schizochytrium, multiply quickly. The payoff, which comes after processing, is a substance that resembles corn oil. It tastes faintly fishy.

When financial industry slowlaners say to be happy growing at 6% per year... Show them this:

Yeah, I know the numbers are insanely low. But look at that percentage! That's the kind of growth you get when you are active.

Not just buying a damn index fund and waiting 40 years.

I'm sure that someone here is kicking themselves for not having shoveled $10K into dogecoin a year ago.

Here's what you should be kicking yourself about: the fact that there's some opportunity available today that is just as good, that you aren't looking for.

Yuck, I've thought about fish aswell.. mercury poisoning, micro plastics and who knows what else.

''Microplastics in wild fish from North East Atlantic Ocean and its potential for causing neurotoxic effects, lipid oxidative damage, and human health risks associated with ingestion exposure

Methylmercury is highly toxic, causing serious health problems when it reaches certain levels in your body. Mercury is a naturally occurring heavy metal. It can build up in the bodies of fish in the form of methylmercury, which is highly toxic.''

In a way, this is why I love the EU. They have some tight regulations which are not easy for businesses, but at least consumers are protected and enjoy the highest food quality in the world.

Omg I ask myself this question every day!!!

"What is the bitcoin of today. What is the latest technology no one knows about which will change the world".

Peter Thiel explains that companies are built on secrets, things (trends) that only founders know about, believe, or understand, and that often go completely in the opposite way everyone is thinking at instant t.

What's the thing everyone thinks you think is wrong? What is the thing you see that no one sees?

Clearly, BTC was the answer in the last decade.

What will be this decade's secret?

A couple of ideas:

The complete failure of veganism when people realize humans are made to eat meat.
The complete failure of the electric car when people realize that batteries pollute, can't be recycled, there isn't enough electricity for everyone, and petrol is just a denser source of energy.
The complete failure of green energy sources, unreliable, expensive, impossible to control, and not sufficient to sustain economic growth.

My contrarian-bets:

Companies making local, sustainable, and ethical meat.
Nuclear energy, and huge investment into research to de-atomize nuclear trash.
Hybrid cars, and cars running on gas (we call it LPG here).
The rise of "mushrooms" medicine and the collapse of most pharmaceuticals companies

I am still hesitant regarding DeFi, I still don't see the government abandoning the monopole on money without a fight.

This might backfire..but..

Why in the world would you drop out of law/medical/finance school in your last year to become an youtuber/make an online shop or some other momentarily trend?

I see why the stories of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs etc, dropping out of college to pursue their dreams sell.
We see Apple and Microsoft today, but in hindsight.
It could’ve gone the other way too.

So my question is this:
Can’t your f*hgking youtube channel wait another 3 months till graduation?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about taking risks and pursuing your dreams.
But wouldn’t it help more having a better paying job in the process of building towards your dream?

One might argue that making less means more time to work on the business. It also means you can’t afford tools that would help grow your business faster.

Anyway... i just had to take it off my chest :haha:

A YouTube channel is a much less appealing business than, say, an electronics company.

Not to mention the fact that those businesses were actually operating before they dropped out.

So I agree and disagree... because if you think you’re going to just start recording yourself on YouTube, that’s dumb, but if you have a more concrete business that actually has sales and customers, it might be financially smarter to quit college.

Bureaucracies are so funny and horribly inefficient. My FOIL request was denied on Friday. Tonight I received the results from another person in the same office. They were both working on the same request and one denied it because they didn't like how I worded it, the other one wasn't such an annoying butthead and processed it. Worked out for me so I'm a happy girl regardless of the stupidity behind the results.

Might not expressed myself properly.
It did not include concrete businesses with active sales and customers.- I totally agree with that.

Need advice to stay on track and start an execution thread here. Started a few before but lost track with time. I'm losing momentum and I'd hate to give in any distractions now.

An execution thread won't stop you from quitting. If you're going to throw in the towel, you will. If you're not going to throw in the towel, you won't. It's a problem solved by your choices, not by your threads. Start an execution thread once you get some traction and you won't have to worry about looking silly for losing momentum. I ignore my own advice on this all the time, so feel free to do the opposite of what I'm suggesting if that is what you choose.
