Hi All,

I am half-way through unscripted , absolutely love it. It's a book like no other, absolutely no BS. I had been so taken in by all the BRO marketers over the last few years, hopping from this and that. I'm sure there's many of you that have had the same experience. I recently have been doing searches on these people, I'm embarrassed to admit I had been taken in by them, but I guess that's the point right?

I had a odd childhood, one that I have really been trying to understand but sufficed to say that it was a perfect storm of bad training when it came to personal value, confidence and money mismanagement. It's amazing how the script in my head just keeps on running, no matter how much my conscious mind wants something else.

Anyway.... I have been a musician for quite some time, now getting into the video world which I love. One thing that I always noticed about musicians is that they completely suck at marketing.

This is where my idea for a business has come, I want to help Musicians be better marketers, I know that I can offer them amazing value. I have gone back to college and have just gotten my marketing diploma, and have taken courses on copy-writing and mindset to help give them the tools they need to push forward.

That's where my question is to you... On the face of it do you think this is a good thing to do? For me, it's more about helping than money... however, I do have bills ya know!!

Thank you all, looking forward to going through the forum and reading some inspiring stories, and the ones that are failures!

Rob

Hey Rob,

Welcome to the forum. Have a listen or read about how Derek Sivers started CD Baby. Might give you some inspiration. He was a musician and just wanted to help fellow musicians too.

43? Sounds the perfect age to turn your life around.;)

An important note is that it is possible since you’re new to taking risks that you can fail. But why is it looked at with such disdain? If you fail and learn you’re better prepared for next time. So basically what I’m saying is just be persistent every day and don’t beat yourself up.

good luck!
