Hey guys,

I'm new here... Just read The Fastlane book last week.

I'm thinking about a idea to make some money and leverage my investments. Basically I'm thinking about reselling supplements or creating a supplement private label. I live in Brazil, so I would like to know if anyone have knowledge about this market here.

Also, are there any other field I can start with few and grow up?

Thanks! =)

Well amazon in brazils in it's infancy so you might be able to get first mover advantage putting stuff (like supplements) on their.

But instead of forum members listing random ideas , whats the situation on the ground as far as need? Who needs help in brazil and how?

Thanks for your reply man!

So, the economy is still a bit better with Bolsonaro, but I don't know if it will take so longer. Here in brazil I think people need help making money (reason there is so many "Making money online courses"). Or with spending less money, since everything is bit expensive.

Something that is growing up is the idea of getting fit, lean and stronger. So there is a lot of gyms, crossfit places, etc.

About digital products what I see that is growing up are some Digital Marketing Courses, Money not as much (people start to realize there was so many scams), apps similar to uber but focused on small towns, and the same for food. I had an idea on my mind to develop one for parking spots, like airbnb.

I don't know if I understand correctly your question, so let me know if that was not what you meant.

And then more broadly speaking do you see any trends in brazil you can capitalize on? For instance the major cities are considered world class cosmopolitan but much of the cpuntry remains rural.

Do you expect to see government or private funds invested into infastructure projects as more towns become connected? What about land and real estate in mid size towns which stand to see growth?

Are any industries waning? Any new ones popping up?

I can think on trends right now... The only that came in my mind is about people taking care so much of appearance and health.

About government, as we are trying to recover from a economic recession I think he won't do much. I know that service provider is a good field in brazil.

And about industries, we have to make a lot of improvements on taxes, cause I saw a lot of industries bankrupt when the leftist government was in charge. And I can see it changing for the next years.

I have a long term project that was about developing casual mobile games... I have one in production, but I'm making it as a full stack and it takes time. This is what can generates the biggest amount of money in my life. As I can sell it worldwide and casual games are a good spot. Also with casual games you can do everything alone if you have persistence (coding, design, music). I have some experience on those 3.

I know about the supplement industry, but nothing about Brazil

From my experience, you should know that:
- You're more of a marketing company than a supplement brand. Quality is important no doubt, but if you can't effectively market your product, you'll be sitting around with boxes of bottles
- Profit margins are high, but only if you control the means of production. The manufacturers are the middleman, and they get their money regardless, as they will make you order a Minimum Order Quantity. I don't know your background, or the regulations in Brazil, but if you can set up your own production setup that follows the proper guidelines, you'll make so much more money, and have a shorter time until you are in the Black, from production/manufacturing costs. I'll put it like this. My company produces our supplements, and our profit margins range from 86% to 93% (6 different products). I make more from a product that retails for $7.49 than alot of companies make from a product that retails for $25+
- Your product needs to make sense. As profitable as this industry is, most fail because their supplement product isn't something that people want. People think that they will get sales bringing some exotic amazon tree bark to the market. It never works. Make sure that the supplement is something that you can see alot of people using. Something that can effect people in different markets. For example, something that helps ease joint pain could be marketed towards athletes, people who work in manual labor and people who are elder in age. Multi market use gives your product validation .

workout supplements are a HUGE market in the US. Pre-workout powders, mass gainers, etc
You could possible strike gold IF there arent alot of major players that already have the market share down there
Just know that you HAVe to do it right. With all the workout supp companies bringing in millions, there are a boatload that are losing money on the brink of failure because they aren't doing it right. Its also super saturated (in the US) since all you have to do is go to a manufacturer.

Have you ever thought about getting on the Manufacturing side of the game?

I have some experience on those 3.

So you have some coding skills?! very neat.

Ok so, health and fitness is big in brazil, thats what your eyes are telling you. You're skillset is...something software related.

What about taking a popular fitness related app from the english speaking / US world and making it more localized or simply a Portuguese...I don't want to say knockoff because I'd expect you'd want to improve but you get the idea.

I think you are on the right track. But think big. International. And digital. Once you have a digital presence you can promote anything to that targeted market including supplements.

But what you should focus on now is building your own database of subscribers in fitness and health.

Thanks for your reply man! Very useful!

I've already thought about that, but it may be a big investment right? Need equipments, chemistry guy, etc. How much it would cost. Do you have an estimate?

That for me was the best solution. I just don't know if I have the proper capital to invest on it.

That's pretty good! Gonna check that... I know some apps on fitness here in brazil made a lot of success.

I have some ideas coming to my mind right now! Gonna think about!

Thanks for your feedback! =)

In terms of equipment, you wouldn't even need $15K US depending on what you're trying to produce. In terms of facilities and labor, I have no idea.
I operate out of a local college, and our equipment was provided by a company who sponsors the lab. So my situation is a tad unique, as I haven't had to put in the capital that others may have had to
