Hi Everyone,
I am excited to be here. I'm 2/3rds of the way through Unscripted and thought I would join. A little about me...
I got a degree in Biochemistry and went to Medical school. I realized that path wasn't the right one and left after 2 years. I love medicine but the system around it was suffocating. I had taken some computer science courses in college but I didn't know how to leverage those skills so I went to a coding academy. After completion, I did some freelance work and got a job as a software engineer. I have been a professional developer for 2 years now and I'm trying to figure out where to take my career next.
I'd like to leverage my biochemistry and medical knowledge, perhaps do something health related. I've also considered going in a totally different direction. I have several ideas and technical skills to make things happen, but I'm slowed down by the concern that I'll be pursuing the wrong goal (going west when I should go east) or doing steps out of order. I know little about business but I'm trying to absorb all I can. If anyone has any favorite resources on starting a business from a practical standpoint (LLC vs S-Corp, making a business model, etc) please share. Thanks and I look forward to interacting with you all!
