I want to create an online business that makes me money short and long term. I have business ideas and I executed some of them. None took off so far.
Everyone can relate that having failed businesses without knowing why they failed is demotivating.
Therefore every time I look into new ideas, I plan much more than before. This again results in doing nothing, as no idea seems to be able to take off. They are all flawed.

My general approach all ideas have in common
  1. I do Google, Facebook, Instagram advertising, some people come and leave again
  2. Nobody comes from organic searches
  3. Some people look a little longer and leave
  4. I always have to guess why people leave as I get no feedback
Products and services I tried:
  1. "Hen and egg"-service(see here aswell). This is the one I put years in. I couldn't make any company/buyer interested, even though in the end I did very relentless marketing borderlining illegal marketing.
  2. Book. I sold a few back in the days till one nasty review on amazon killed all sales till today.
  3. Another book. Here and there a few books sold in spite of massive free content created on instagram for it.
  4. Several blogs with ads and affiliate links. Mainly no visitors.
So people either don't come or leave shortly after. Without me knowing, why, really. It is all guessing.

Which steps do you suggest?

Know yourself: Your personality, love yourself, IQ, likes & dislikes, boundary level, and align it in your business/career.

If you have idea, test it to the marketplace and look for feedback.

If your basic foundation level is good enough, there shouldn't be any guesswork.

I can categorize them into those areas

Keep up the amazing work man, you're finding what works and what doesn't...

I constantly tell people to commit to ONE thing..

However, how long have you tried each of these ideas for?

Have an idea. Run PPC ads against a landing page. See if there's interest. Develop a MVP for the one people want. Rinse and repeat.
  1. The landing page could be repelling
  2. The landing page could not be loading on certain devices
  3. The keywords could be wrong
These are just the tip of the iceberg of events that distort the result "interest".
To have a mvp, you need to know what minimally viable is in this context. That depends on the users.

Also, that's the very thing I described under My general approach all ideas have in common

Other ideas?

@Quentin Pauls , first off well done you for keep picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and trying over. A lot of people get too stuck in their failures to bounce back again. You are way ahead of most just because of that.

One thing that is worth looking at is your language. I totally appreciate how hard things are and feel when it goes wrong, but it's really important to try and reframe it in your head in a more positive way, otherwise all your internal monologue knows is to criticise you when you try something new because surely you remember things went wrong last time you tried.

@Sebastya has it bang on with how to move forward. Don't get in too deep with your ideas without really going deep into the research side of things. The truth is when businesses fail it's because as amazing as the idea might be, there's one thing that isn't working - it isn't connecting with the audience and you need that audience with a problem that you have the solution to succeed.

Spend more time at the start, doing some test runs with PPC (Google or Bing if you're looking for something cheaper). Spend time hanging around the places people who have the problem are. Get to know what their issues are inside and out.

Do that and follow what they're telling you and success will come your way.

Um, that's the point of testing with landing pages? To know what design, keywords and copy people respond to and iterating from there.
