Hi everyone,
First of all, sorry if my english can be a bit poorly-written.
Who am I?
My name is Eddy, I'm from Orleans, France and I'm 32. I'm a dad of a 10 month child.
Like most of us, MJ DeMarco's book brought me here and I just finished it with a lot of ambition for the future. Let me tell you my professionnal story shortly.
3D Specialist since Twelve years now, I've come across a lot of professionnal experiences as an employee, good and bad, but I never really felt the thrill of success even when I was at the origin of it regarding to a client. I didn't want to take credit of it, I wanted to feel that I was the key of our client satisfaction.
My story so far
4 Years ago I decided to dive into doing my own buisness. Even if it looks like a "I do it because I like it", I aimed at creating something different than the others by focusing on selling quality in client support AND delivery quality. My lack of experience in buisness is clearer now, but we manage with my associate to get some engagement toward our work. That's how our first client brought us a lot of big client references over thoses years (Big french furniture corporation for example)
Of course, our lack of communication led us creating a financial dependance toward our client. But that's just a part of the story.
On an other side, two entrepreneurs, creators of one of the 30 biggest enterprise in France, contacted me for their new project. The other one bought an old factory and wanted to create an immersive park from nothing. They had ambition, money and everything, and said that I could be a board member of the ship.
This might have been the biggest mistake I did.
After a year of passionate discussion, they started paying us monthly with our auto-entrepreneur status and later one, we became employed in the enterprise. I thought that would keep me in command, I was wrong. Slowly, we lost any power of decision, becoming technicians again. Thos month created Anger, stress and a lot of negative emotion. I had a little voice inside my head that said "That's not what I wanted, and that's not what I want for the future".
So I planned on leaving next summer. Guess what ? The Company Sank last month. Gladly, I kept my client of my other activity, but they have now less work to give and we have to rebuild everything.
Why am I here?
I'm here because I want to create, to be a driver, not a passenger. I'll give a try to my activity to grow, especially now that we want to develop the VR aspect on a good way, creating entertainement at it's higher level, immersion.
I'm also here to discuss with people, create connection and to see if my vision fit with reality.
I don't know if I'm on the fastlane yet, but I'm sure that i'll do everything to be in.
