How to write copy that sells
The 16 word sales letter

. Pen and paper only!

Is that a requirement? I'm physically incapable of the fine motor control required.

I've no guarantee I will be able to even access internet in 90 days.

How about some feedback on my attempt at copywriting?

You're physically incapable of actual writing?

Disability of some sort?

The topic of this post is a bit confusing. I wasn't sure what you were selling to be honest. It would help to specify what your role is. Eg virtual assistance specializing in abc for hire

Yes and yes! It's also why I am unable to drive or start by lawn mowing. I have enough muscle control to use a computer or laptop with a large enough keyboard.

The disabilty is actually named bad muscle control in Latin.

Hence my query if typing or dictation is sufficent?

Imagine arthritis along with uncontrollable muscular spasms and tics.

Use diction then.

@Dan_Cardone that was very succinct. Do you have other such recipes for making money? I can see you making a book if you have another 30, and I can see this book or course selling very well. Of course, you'd have to fill in the details, but each chapter devoted to one strategy could start from such a basic recipe.

Thank you.

I actually am working on one right now.

My response to @Andy Black

Can you create bots to “scrape” websites or Facebook pages and pull back data parsed into rows in a Google Sheet?

With enough time, money & budget yes.

Can you take rows in a Google Sheet as input and generate a web page per row?

I have already done this with a WordPress site. Yet to do it with static though I would use Ghost for this purpose.

Can you take a description of up to 40 characters and split it into two Google Ads headlines of up to 30 characters, where the split isn’t partway through a word in the original 40 character description?

As long as the are no hyphenated words and full stops are used properly. How would you want to determine the position of the split? Just a matter of time & money.

Can you take the listings from a Shopify store and convert it into a Google Sheet to be uploaded to Google Merchant Center as a supplemental feed for Google Shopping campaigns?

By listings do you mean paid order, cancelled order or any status order? Or do you mean products? Yes for the right budget.

Can you setup and automate reports from Google Data Studio so that every Monday 30 clients get a weekly view of their last 10 weeks performance?

I have only browsed the connectors. Looks like there is probably some way of doing it. Would be a while before I could do it.

Also adding in the Change Log and Comments from a Google Sheet setup for each client?
That is probably the easiest part.

Can you automatically pause the ad group for any keyword that has a quality score of 2 or less for charity clients so they can stay compliant with Google’s policies and remain eligible for their $10k/mth grant for ad spend.

This depends on the quality score. There is no easy way to pull it out. If it can be calculated from other data or I can find an API call for it then it's just a budget issue.

Can you bulk upload 30 Soundcloud recordings into iTunes and retain their creation dates?

No.

Can you bulk change the description and tags for over 100 YouTube videos that haven’t got any description or tags?
Not without better internet and a better computer.
Maybe from a Google Sheet so formulae can be used to generate the descriptions and tags?
Perhaps in the future.

Can you set up Thrivecart and ActiveCampaign so that a paid email newsletter can be created that automatically unsubscribes people when they stop paying?

If ThriveCart will give me API access then yes, just a matter of budget.

Can you create a Zapier zap so that people who buy a Thinkific course get tagged or added to another MailCheat(Chimp) list or are otherwise separated from the people just taking the free trial?

For the right budget yes.

Can you write similar examples of what you *have* done that can show people what you’re capable of, and to get their wheels turning?

I did. Further up in the thread. Also I have done automatically download invoices sent by email to Google Drive and add to catalogue on GoogleSheet to make it easier to find.

Also I came up with a way to detect a number of software bugs at the requirements gathering stage. As I''m sure @andyblack knows finding them in the testing stage is much more expensive. That's easily $1400-$9900 saved depending on if the bug would have been caught at testing or not.

It's hard to even get the software specs to do a test and a quote.

I can also offer web design. Or web design and your web pages from Google Sheets if there is demand for it.

SOP is Standard Operating Procedure, right?

Sure that's just programming. Albeit for wet mushy computers. Average Human Readable or Programmer Readable? Ideally. I would want 3 videos because people never repeat the actions they think they do.

I could manage with one video with good subtitles and the narrator available for clarification via email/instant messenger though.

What you can do that IIFT or Zapier cannot? (if you know what I'm talking about)

How to write copy that sells
The 16 word sales letter

Go buy those two book and spend a couple days reading them. Then everyday for a week write a new peice of copy. Pen and paper only!

Seven pieces of copy in seven days!

Is it a lot of work? Yes.
Will it vastly speed up your learning curve? Yes.

You can also take my more hardcore approach that has taken complete novices and gotten them up to to a point where they were making money within 90 days....

Step 1) Get those two books. Read them and take notes.

Step 2) Find someone good at copywriting and offer to pay them to review your copy and give you feedback.

Step 3) Write copy every single day for the rest of the 90 days. Bang out at least three pages a day!

Step 4) Start a swipe file. Spend an hour a day looking at copy from various sources. When you see copy you like, save it to your swipe file. Read through it and ask yourself "why does this work so well?"

Step 5) Implement feedback from your coach.

I've seen people do this and go from terrible to making money on upwork after 90 days.

Why these two books in particular?

There seem to be a lot of good copywriting books out there.
