More reading and research and buying more books. It is a shame that there is little information on my fastlane venture.

There wasn't a field manual for any of my ventures either. That is generally a GOOD sign, not a bad one. Just an FYI. Carry on.

For those that literally got no luck getting job even applying endlessly.

I have no choice, but to do yard sale/thrift store/estate/garage/retail arbitrage sale flipping now.

Total investment thus far:

3x Branded Retail Arbitrage Hats = $34
4x Cups with Brands on them = $6
1x Toy = $2

Total investment: $42
Started 2 days ago.

Not gonna go with retail arbitrage too often because the margins kinda suck. Also being intentionally general with descriptions

Can’t wait for the weekend for all the garage sales. That’s where the money is.
I know a woman who buys clothes by the pound offseason and then sells them at flea markets at about a 10 times price she paid for them. She specializes in coats. There's a ton of side businesses like that.

As a side hustle for extra spending money, I flip phones. Buy them on eBay and sell them on Facebook marketplace. I will have made $700 this week in profit. Sold 14 phones @ $50 profit a piece.

I have a book on amazon teaching people this. Its not rocket science.
I just tried to msg you but this forum says messages cannot be sent to you. Would you PM me your Amazon link to your ebook?

Unfortunately, the knowledge for my business does not come in audio or podcasts, it is archaic.

Here is your issue. You expect others to teach you exactly what you need to know.

The podcasts give you overall business knowledge, which is way more important that your actual product or business.

Do you think there was a podcast about ghillie suits out there for me? Is there a podcast on how to start a sunglasses company for @Vick or one about @Kak's business?

The knowledge for your business is in all the podcasts and books that you read or listen to. Did you gain any knowledge from undercover billionaire, the profit or shark tank?

What? The guy I was responding to said that he uses travel time by listening to podcasts and other things. I was just stating the fact that my business does not have that. That it all. Did I ever say I expected everything to be perfectly laid out? I mean it would be nice, but it is not.

Those are just general business knowledge, my focus right now is the technical product development. Once the technical details are done, then all should be good.

Yes, you said that your business does not have podcasts. What did you mean by that then?

Once your technical details are done, you will need all the other general business knowledge.

The product is the easiest part of business, it's all the other stuff that is hard.

Ehh...product is easiest if you just import stuff or some low quality stuff. But if yah building something really good and in house like me. I would consider it the hardest part. Going for the highly remarkable so I will not have to spend much on marketing.

Yeah, thanks. I am slightly making a career move. So not gonna lie, can’t give much. I could give more, but would need schooling again as advised by someone. Can’t afford schooling right now and getting a slowlane job obvious isn’t my end goal. Just a stepping stone to build my own venture.
What is your end goal OR using the terms of the Avengers what is your end game?
Do you have any exceptional talents?

I think you are wrong here, but I guess we will see. Do you expect it to go viral and/or have people share and talk about it on social media?

The greatest product doesn't matter if people don't know about it.

It just makes it easier in the long run if my product is remarkable. As Seth Godin describes it as a purple cow. If people see it they would want to take pictures, share on social media. It is something you can't ignore due to its remarkability. You have to stop and look.

This in turn will increase the probability of it going viral, but still no guarantee. All I'm doing is manipulating probabilities here.

I still need to market, but not as much.

Dude you don't need a business, you need a therapist.

Can't you see you're spinning around in circles, and that it's driving everyone around you crazy?

At the VERY least, invest time into Personal Power II by Tony Robbins (free on youtube) or some NLP books / courses. That should be enough to jog your brain. In the meantime I would stay off the forum with your rambling "progress" threads until you can make a real decision, take definitive action, and get real results.

You are wasting your time and all of ours.

Marketing consultant here....

You wouldn't believe how many entrepreneurs have said some variation of "I always thought if my product/service was good it would just catch on. I don't understand why it didn't but now I need to know how to market it" to me.

Build it and they will come... But only if they know about it from marketing.

Therapist? Sounds like a waste of money and time.

At the start of this thread, it was actually simple. To compensate for lack of a job I went to flipping. Obviously flipping is not really a fastlane venture. It was only to help fund it and keep me afloat until I get a job.

Tony Robbins is one of those BS entrepreneurs that sell the dream. I'm kinda done reading that BS entrepreneur hype crap. All about realism now.

Also about wasting time, you don't have to respond to this thread or even acknowledge it.

I think you misunderstood me. I am not like the others that are going to disregard marketing 100%. I said I am still going to market it, but I know I will have to spend significantly less if the product is remarkable.
Things like the aesthetics of the product design can really catch someone's eye. And product design in itself can be the sole reason someone buys something.

I'm not just gonna list my product on my website and cross my fingers. I'm gonna post it to where my target demographic exists.

If you would take action on what he teaches your life would have a lot less BS in it.

I'm kinda done reading that BS entrepreneur hype crap. All about realism now.
Good for you. Reading doesn't mean shit, taking action on what you have read does through.

Have you factored in gas costs and your time into the flipping venture?

You’re likely making less than minimum wage after all said and done I’d imagine.

No, but yeah pretty sure it is below minimum wage. I realized it wasn’t really worth it, going out was a hit and miss. Can’t really build income in that type of deal unless you making several thousand per flip.

Take the well paying job and live below your means for the next year.

Work on perfecting your product in the meantime while saving up as much of a runway as possible so you can go part time or quit your job to pursue your business idea.

I highly doubt you’ll need a house full of machinery to build a working prototype.

You could probably buy/rent just the essentials and outsource the rest.

Found 6 different makerspaces in Seattle with a quick google search: seattle makerspace - Google Search

Change this thread title to: “Poor man couldn’t get a job but finally got one.”

I factored in gas and everything else a business factors in and came up with a projected total of $102,624.00 profit for 2019. I'm not special, neither are the people I led him to for help. They make more than I do but I think they spend about 3x the time working than I do..... but this is how they make their living. Me and them are just normal people. For MoreValue, I'd take the job. I think MoreValue is the type that needs a lot of guidance and probably praise..... nothing wrong with that. Everyone is different. In the correct setting, I bet MoreValue could be a great worker.

Oh, I stated it is high potential in getting the job. Didn’t actually get it yet. Even if I do, I have to wait like a month before actually starting work.

For the first 8 months or so, I will be traveling a lot, so near zero product development will be done.

Technically I could take a loan on these machines, but I feel as if it is better to just buy them outright. Especially if I secure this job. Room is an obvious issue in Seattle. See my thread for Life Hacks, I already got the frugal thing down. So much so, it seems like I’m a cheapass.

I need specialized sewing machines. Makerspaces don’t normally have these.

There are mobile homes near Seattle for like 120k or save up to buy 400k home.

Do you think maybe there would be some value in evaluating your mindset?

Also about wasting time, you don't have to respond to this thread or even acknowledge it.

I don't either, but one of my good friends tagged me in a post hoping I would come weigh in on someone who needed help so I did... however I'm a little worried if I say anything it'll just be thrown out the window... kind of a waste of time when I'm with the B&P crew on a private island heading to dinner and drinks talking about business.

Riiiiiiight.

...Where's @Kung Fu Steve when you need him?!

I hate spending my time trying to convince people -- I want to help people who actually want help and who are actively searching for it!

C'mon broski.

P.S. Where you been?!

Prime candidate for H1b visa replacement or outsourcing. Not sure why this board finds it so hard to believe these jobs are becoming unattainable in America. When I worked our IT depts were outsourced and what business functions remain are usually given to visa workers. This is the new economy, and largely why Trump got elected.

Although still in the interview process, the job require me to be at client sites. They already have international department. So you gotta physically be there. So that gives it resistance to overseas people.

Not sure about the position you are applying for, but tech companies bring visa workers in to "do the jobs Americans simply cannot do." You know, stuff like math, and technology, and querying a database (something I learned in 3 months).
