Hi,

I have been working in finance for the past ten years most of that doing quantitative electronic trading. I have a computer science degree and worked as a web/database developer in college and a couple years after college.

I loved trading and was working for myself for about 4 years but the volatility is not what I wanted long term. I tried starting my own hedge fund but found out I'm a terrible sales person and had bad timing as everyone was taking money out of hedge funds in 2014/2015 also my trading wasn't making as much as I had prior.

I set off to get a stable job where it was no longer eat what you kill and found myself surrounded by people I didn't respect. I found out about this forum though reddit entrepreneur and then picked up unscripted . I'm a little over halfway through.

I am still working my 9-5 but it is easy and spending about 20hours a week working on my business vision.

I am planning on eventually starting a Private Equity fund for digital assets. Meaning I'm going to buy revenue generating websites, apps, etc fixed them up and either resell them or find strategic rollups to increase multiple to sell later.

First I will start by buying a website off of one of the many marketplaces available. Currently I'm just in learning mode reading and improving marketing skills.

Thanks for reading.

This is 100% on my bucket list. Do it! Be sure to check out ForeverJobless. He's a member on the forum as well who has broken down his process for buying / selling / flipping sites into a science. I think you'll enjoy it.

Cheers.

Wow thanks already major value within 20mins of posting. I will definitely be checking this out. Thank you!

Haha it is funny. I remember a couple months ago when I thought I had some original idea. What a rube. After several months of research, there are "lots" of people doing it and some for a while. I have to get in there and see where I fit and current market dynamics.

I am surprised online businesses are going for the same multiples as offline businesses. Just a better business model and much more upside. Multiples have definitely risen but still think there is value. Even if you don't improve the site they will get you a 30% return on capital depending on time spent.

Unlike flipping a house you are still making money every month while you work on it. Obviously, unlike a house it could go to zero. But like they say "you place yous bets and takes yous chances"

*yous is intentional
