Do they practice what they teach?

Gary V shows the hustle with his dailyvee vlog which is inspiring looking back/forward 10 years from now. Grant Cardone - Does he really promote what he sells or does he teach real estate, how to build wealth and sell info products? Alex Becker turned me off with his instagram account promoting selling items on Spotify. He doesn't preach what he is teaching but his book 10 pillars is a good read.

Why I love grant: Teaching people how to hustle and why it's important, the importance of selling, taking responsibility for a sale/life, diversifying income. Whatever he's doing must work because he sure as hell turned his net worth around fast.

That being said - he is quite rough around the edges and SOME of his advice can be questionable imo - IE: calling someone 50+ times if they aren't buying, going ALL IN on his advice, selling ANYTHING and EVERYTHING for income - some of this isn't super structured.

I would pair Grant's motivational/life advice with some more polished technical sales advice - like Jeb Blount, Fanatical Prospecting or Sales EQ (a much more polished approach to the actual sales model).

I just received my copy of Fanatical Prospecting... Im gonna read it on my flight to Vegas!

I'm also going to 10X Growth Con 3 for 3 days in February. If anyone wants to know how it is I can report back.

I have purchased some of Grant Cardones paid content from Cardone University as well as some of his webinars...I love his Millionaire Booklet, its about 35 pages long, I read it regularly and I swear I always increase my income every time I re read that book...Just reinforcing that point, and constantly having that thought to INCREASE INCOME cross my mind frequently really helps me.

Some one needs to write a book on how to save/ manage money, esp. physical cash money, and esp. when/if its inconsistent because you are selling and the amount you sale varies every time.

Gary comes off as a guy riding the wave of social media. Nothing wrong with that, but he criticises entrepreneurship for being "trendy", right after he posts a Snap with #HUSTLE at the bottom.

Grant is successful through pure hustle, though I think some of his advice is a little dated. Like beating people to death with your phone hundreds of times a day. Most of his advice is gold. Love his audiobooks too.

Becker, same as Gary, is taking advantage of Youtube to market himself. However, he does own successful businesses and puts out some nuggets every now and then.

Gary V is a piece of sh*t. I do like the other two though.
That's a fairly strong opinion. Care to elaborate?

Not a fan of his, but I don't know how one would conclude he's so bad.

How about we just don't put these individuals on a pedestal.

They are all regular people whose jobs are to create content and support their personal business ventures. None of them hold this "entrepreneur secret".

Like MJ has said "There is no F*cking script".

Watch them if you want, or don't watch them. They have all proven that they are the sharks and we are being the guppies putting them on a pedestal.

Don't know if I would call him a piece of sh** lol. However, I tried listening to "Crushing It" audiobook on a 3 hour drive to a meeting last week (suggested by many in this forum)

I turned it off after maybe 30 minutes. I don't know if I needed to listen longer but it seemed the book would be about how anyone can become a highly paid consultant, youtube celebrity, content sharer, expert, etc. Seems like the careers WANTREPRENEURS dream about. What about building a real business on CENTS, tackling hard needs, automating, building something bigger than yourself. He never mentioned separating the business from yourself, or automating? What about building a sell-able asset?

What the hell is the big craze about being a social media/marketing consultant anyways? I have an automated business that put $180 in my pocket while I slept last night - and I can sell it when I choose.

Again - I admittedly only read the first 2 chapters but it didn't start out very good.

Crushing It is a F*cking joke...

The first 10 pages are literally telling you to sell sand in the dessert, salt water in the ocean.

Do what everyone else is doing (that ignores all NEEDS and PROBLEMS of the market) to satisfy your laziness and narcissism.

Make the trillionth useless YouTube video otherwise known as "content".

Vaynerchuck is a LITERAL conman.

He sells snake oil to fortune 500 companies(social media marketing LOL) and when they dare ask what is the return on investment for us giving you $100,000?

Gary responds with:
What's the ROI on your mother?

Literal word-for-word answer to deflect and bully a perfectly reasonable and relevant question.

Gary has one skill:
He understands people and therefore can manipulate them effectively.

And yes the people that watch his videos are wantrapreneuers and will NEVER be great entrepreneurs, let alone even make a dollar that doesn't come from a pay check.

The bolded is an extremely powerful skill that tons of people lack and don't have, but desperately need. It is a life skill for sure. It should be harnessed and cultivated by anyone who wants any type of control and or success in their life.

Grant Cardone sorta speaks to this in Sell or Be Sold.

It is why Trump is president for example.

Usually people that accomplish big things (such as becoming a billionaire or president) have a deep understanding of people.

Including themselves.

Combine that with an unusual lack of fear and a burning hunger or ambition and you have the prerequisites for greatness.

I think they are so polarising because these A-Type Guys are also extremely outgoing and gregarious. That repels and overwhelms a lot of IntrovIerts. I know Entrepreneurs who are obsessive hard chargers as well, they are just not that loud. So we gotta make a distinction here. There are mannerisms and work ethic.

This is true. I find these loud A-type personalities a complete, absolute utter turn-off.
In real life, when I come across these folks, I just shut off my ears and move. Alex Becker not so much, but GC is extremely brash and showy.

I turned it off after maybe 30 minutes. I don't know if I needed to listen longer

That book is all about upselling his other book (Crush It) + testimonials gallery about how much he helped others. The remaining 25% content are all fluff and filler.

Gary responds with:

I would

and ask him to GTFO.
