Goldmine: terapeak tells you exactly what products people are looking for on Amazon/eBay.

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

I’ve learned a lot from this forum so I’m trying to give back. From what I’ve seen, Terapeak is an market research atomic bomb if put into the right hands, like some members of this forum. It shows you exactly what people are looking for, what items are hot, what items are not, what they’re selling for, what people are bitting on them.

Do yourself a favor and sign up for a trial. I know you guys can figure out some sadistic ways of milking this tool for every dime it’s worth.

The big problem with all of these programs that show you what is a hot seller is that they are open to everyone. Logic tells you that the result is inevitable: Massively increased competition.

I'm sure just about everyone on this forum knows that the likely outcome will be a price war and a race to the bottom.

If you want to kill it on Amazon, find something unique to sell. There are countless millions of products available, and only a tiny percentage of them can be found on Amazon.

When searching the B2B platforms, and you find a product that looks interesting, at least ask the manufacturer do they already sell it in ......... (insert your country.)

There are other ways, not the least of which is to search in countries other than China. I have been recommending this approach for years and my latest book revision includes a large number of places to look. See: GOLD! - Sharing my lifetime experience in export/import. Product sourcing specialist.

I am currently preparing a bonus for all of my book readers that will make it possible for them to locate products in almost every country in the world. Every now and then check my AMA where I will make the announcement as soon as the bonus is available.

With the current situation developing in world trade it is of great importance to have alternatives to the products sourced from China by every man and his dog.

Walter
P.S. If you want to find in demand products that are not currently sold on Amazon, PM me. It is an affiliate link for an Amazon course that provides a free copy of my latest book, so I can't post it here.

The value for me was answering “What to sell”... it shows what people want, what categories are hot, what categories are duds, which are saturated

Is it better than JungleScout?
Any program that can help you find products that people actually want, but are not even listed for sale on Amazon, has to be a winner.

Yea but not many sellers use Terapeak. It’s been around for years and still hasn’t gotten massively popular.

It looks like Terapeak was recently acquired by eBay. They don't seem to cover Amazon any longer. Is that true?

True, but I was not only referring to Terapeak, but to such "hot seller" sourcing programs in general, and there are many of them offering to provide data on eBay and Amazon.

The big problem that I referred to is still present regardless of eBay's recent purchase of Terapeak.

The more effective those programs are in identifying hot selling products and the more successful the program sellers are in convincing people that they have the way to identify products to sell, the greater the problem becomes.

Those programs are effectively building bandwagons for more people to jump onto.

Eventually, with each product bandwagon, the bandwagon becomes so overcrowded that the wheels fall off. Meanwhile, many who joined the crowd have lost their shirts due to the huge amount of price cutting competition.

Wait ...... Wasn't that what they went looking for?
