Re-Launching a blog???

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

Like all of us, I have a ton of irons in the fire. Back about 3-4 years ago I decided i was going to create a blog with my own flavor of helping people achieve financial independence and their dreams with a slant on how to have a successful corporate career and eventually get out of the rat race (to be an entrepreneur, retire, retire early, etc).

Well, one thing led to another and I got busy with other projects and this blog with about 30 posts on it sat idle for 28 months. I'm fed up with it sitting idle and am trying to re-launch it.

QUESTION - For the articles that I've written in year's past, should I update the dates on them and re-publish as new content?

QUESTION - are there other things to consider so the blog doesn't look like it has a giant gap in time?

QUESTION - Should I not worry about the gap in time and just get back to creating some awesome content?

I think you need to ask yourself one thing first:

"Am I financially independent?" If the answer is no, I won't be reading your blog. I typically read from people that have skin in the game (i.e. have something to lose or are "there").

I looked at your posting history as well, you've posted about this blog before (multiple times) by the looks of it. It's been 3 years, it doesn't really look like you're going to do much with it man (or have done much with it either). With actionable advice given in previous replies, and no actual action taken....I might think about dropping it.

Great thoughts and thank you for the feedback. Yes it has dropped off my radar as I've been driving very hard on the real estate side of things. I've been FI for several years (as detailed in my about me page on the site), about 7 but am working to generate new revenue streams, of which the blog will be one.

Had I RE'd, maybe the blog would already be there, but i haven't chosen to take that path yet. I have things well stabilized, automated and built out in my other revenue streams which took much of my focus since I first launched the blog but there were some great opportunities in Real Estate that I could pass up. I believe that was the right decision. Time will tell.

I love the feedback though and appreciate the honesty!

Challenge accepted.

I would just start a new blog, and start from scratch of whatever you're agenda is in 2018. Everything changes every year, and if it's not up to date, people will notice. And like he stated, if your an authority on finances, better to have the experience, walk the walk, and talk the talk because people are kind skeptic these days.
