Hi guys,
Is there something more then money?

After a succesfull exit with some cash und real estate, life ist just simple. I went every day to the pool and swim an hour for my health, eat the things i like, went on holidays to the beach and enjoy every single minute. A minute, a hour, a day of pure silence ist the best thing in live.

Did someone do a second lap of "fastlane"?

For me it's incredible hard to find the motivation to find a new thing. I can't find any sense to buy a ferrari or luxus yacht when i know that the limiting factor in life is time. It's only an option when a new business pops up whitout low risk to my whealth and time. It's possible to cry that there are only 20.000 days left.

If thats question ist to stupid im really sorry, i would enjoy some positive comment ;) Thank your very much.

GO ALL IN CRYPTO TRADING YO
(lol if you really want to contact me I got a cool discord chat with traders)

But just try things out, I don't have much cash but I still do fun stuff

  • Just learned to kitesurf, got my certificate and can kitesurf anywhere I want
  • Bought a midi keyboard and bash on it to make some beats
  • Looking into new technologies like blockchain and deep learning
Maaaaaan there is so much to do, experience and learn. It's not about the money, it's about duh freedom to explore.

Just try things out and learn, maybe it will bring you to your next venture.

You're happy. No need to start a new business. You're where everyone wants to be. Enjoy it.

Last November I reached the point of my life where all those dreams I once had were already accomplished. I just spent the night out partying in Amsterdam with two people I met there...and on the train ride back to my friend's house at 1 a.m., I realized...What else is there left to do?

I didn't really want to do anything else, except for a particular relationship I wanted to be in, but that wasn't working out.

For a bit, I stopped caring about myself, and I said - I might as well share my experience with working on my relationships to help other guys avoid the mistakes I make.

And that's when the motivation switched from inward, to doing stuff for others with not caring what I get back in return.

I'd say that shift led to what didn't feel like motivation. It's more like flow state of something I started doing...waking up every morning, making a cup of coffee, opening my laptop, and writing about my relationship experiences.

I don't think I have an answer for you in terms of the feelings of motivation like we felt in the past - but hitting that flow state of something to help others will get you in motion.

A member once posted the "levels of income" (I think it was @MidwestLandlord)

1. Survival
2. Status
3. Freedom
4. Legacy

A lot of people dabble in 1 or 2.
You've reached 3.
You don't *have* to earn more money - you could loose money on a business (as long as it does not affect 3) if the process makes you happy.

If you like to write, write a book. You don't have to care about analytics or numbers of readers. No need to change the content to sell more books.

If you like to edit videos, create movies and put them on youtube. No need to follow trends or monetize your content.

If you like riding your bike, set a route and start riding it. No need to search for sponsors.

Tl;Dr: Do it. Without the need to involve money. (But if you want to, you can).

But who knows if this thougt is true - I'm not there yet. Hopefully someone more suitable answeres this question!

You could build a business to solve the time issue. Life extension. Time is only a limiting factor until it's not.

That's like asking if there's anything other than flying. Well, for what? Where are you going? Why are you going there?

Money is conceptual and contextual. It's an easy way to trade value, that's all. Money and wealth are very different. Wealth is the things we want, money is the means we trade to get those things.

For example, money is worthless on a deserted island because there's nothing you can buy. But fresh fish, a natural aquifer and caves for shelter is real wealth.

This is why we don't chase money, it makes no sense. If you feel empty you may be chasing the tool not the outcome.

Have you read On The Shortness of Life?
"Life is long enough, and it has been given in sufficiently generous measure to allow the accomplishment of the very greatest things if the whole of it is well invested. But when it is squandered in luxury and carelessness, when it is devoted to no good end, forced at last by the ultimate necessity we perceive that it has passed away before we were aware that it was passing. So it is—the life we receive is not short, but we make it so, nor do we have any lack of it, but are wasteful of it. Just as great and princely wealth is scattered in a moment when it comes into the hands of a bad owner, while wealth however limited, if it is entrusted to a good guardian, increases by use, so our life is amply long for him who orders it properly."

One of my favorite books and quotes. Very appropriate here.

@classichouse First of all, congratulations for "getting there"!

Here's something that gave me food for thought when I was depressed.
On a red pill forum I used to be active some time ago, one guy told me something like this (free translation):
"Man, take your head out of your own a$$. This world is not about you".

The principle of giving value is not not only about successful business, is about life in general. You can't be happy with your face glued to the mirror.
You can buy yachts, Ferraris, exclusive girls and drugs or whatever you please, but it only gives good emotions for so long (damn, maybe I'm not in the position to be saying such things as I can't afford those expensive toys yet, but you know what I mean :D).

What is the thing that hurts you or pisses you off the most?
For me it's when I see little kids with cancer or other soul crushing diseases. It's f*cked up. I can't just let it be.
I can't change the world in its entirety, but I want to be sure that I have at least some impact. That I can use my money to help them, give their parents some hope. Or maybe even save them, with the help of others.

There's a website in my country , where you can browse through a list of people who need immediate help (e.g. two months to gather $100,000 for an operation, or there's a huge chance of cancer attacking other organs, or death), and transfer them money, either anonymously or not. The amount of horryfying stories there is vast and really eye-opening, just as the amount of those whose life was saved.
Sometimes you get to see HUGE anonymous transfer. I once saw a transfer for $50,000.
It really gives a great satisfaction and revives my faith in humanity.
I'm sure there are many similiar websites in Germany too.

I'm not saying to give away all of your money to the poor and become another Mother Teresa (Father Classic), but I think it should really help the way you feel and give you a new meaning.

If I was "there" already, and have my Unscripted FU savings in place, I would probably start a charity, or build a school for poor kids in a third world country.
Or a homeless cat shelter. Cats are cool and supercute.
Since I'm still on my journey, I just transfer some funds regurarly to different causes I consider important.

And 20000 days is not "only". It's eternity :)

Thank you very much for your nice answers.

I think about things like mentioned by siniter lex or andrew. There are many unhappy people in the world but the problems seems to be too big for me i'm only a guy with good skills und good luck in the middle of his 20s.

But i can imagine there could be another reference number then money, it's "saved time" for other people. I'm not a doctor or scientist to make new medicine to double life span but i can save some hours for the family guy that he could play with his kids or get a drink with his old dad. This option sound great to me.

Yes I will try this. When i will look back in 50 years over my life and can say i saved millions of other hours it were a great succes.

Max,

I'm in pretty much the same position as you are. I'm still working on some financial goals (to achieve what I consider the "ultimate" financial independence) but other than that I'm also retired (which I still find hard to believe).

I believe that while it's cool to enjoy your life - food, sports, travel, family, friends, etc. - ultimately you feel the void because most human beings need to feel productive, and this particularly applies to entrepreneurs. Even something you'd probably call "productive" like, say, learning a foreign language, is in essence consumption because it's only you who benefits from this activity. I try new stuff on a regular basis, travel to exotic destinations, learn new skills and all that, but in the end it's all self-serving. And as cool as it all sounds, it's not something you can do exclusively for the rest of your life if you want to maintain sanity.

I'm a self-published author and I no longer need to write new books because I can live off my bestsellers. However, recently I realized that if I'm not working on a new book (or writing something in general), I feel apathetic. Yes, I dreamed about the kind of lifestyle I now have, but it turns out that - at least as an entrepreneur - you can't really retire and just do fun stuff and feel good. You need to keep producing - even if you don't need to make more money - to feel fulfilled.

If I were you, I would go beyond looking for more self-serving activities and find something productive to do. It doesn't have to be a new business or a full-time venture. You can write a book. Produce music. Create art. Shoot videos. Anything that you create not only for yourself, but also for other people. Based on my experience, just 1-2 hours of productive work a day is enough to minimize the discouragement and lack of motivation you now feel.

Sounds like what @MJ DeMarco did with The Millionaire Fastlane .

Saved a lot of people, a lot of time.

There was about 6 months last year where I was kind of "between" businesses. I knew I was done growing the first, but I hadn't found whatever the next one was going to be yet.

I used some of my downtime to help others. Did some coaching for people wanting help selling on Amazon. Found some upwork gigs related to selling on Amazon. I found it really satisfying when people I'd helped took my advice and ran with it, and became very successful. The benefit of doing coaching because you want to, and not because you have to, is you can only choose to work with people who are serious or are fun to work with.

Maybe you could try doing some coaching/consulting and see how you like it.

Whenever people ask me and I have the time.

In between businesses, it was the perfect thing to do with my downtime.

I've been getting a new business off the ground the last 6 months, and haven't had too much time, but when things are rolling, I'd love to do more.

I am a former school teacher, and although the "job" of teaching in a public school sucks a$$, I still have that itch to teach others... but on my own terms.

Yes it's very crazy retire at 25, the whole life everybody told you get good grades, looking for good job and work until 70 haha. Today i don't know what day ist, and i F*ck of what date is, because every day is saturday except sunday :innocent: :halo: . I Know the situation my dead early retires in his mid 40s and he had a hard time before he calm down. I want to prevent that this situation last for 10 years.

I coach two close friends of mine, they understand the "unscripted lifestyle" and are ready to push really hard for some years, every little step they make warm my heart and it's a good feeling but everybody here knows its a long journey.

Now it's beuatiful sunshine outside and i pick up some paper&pen and look for "time savers".

Thank You very much and have a wonderful evening!

Max
