I've been trading options since August 2016 and I've been cash flow positive.

I came up with an option trading strategy that works great on tech stocks. I see returns of ~20% per week.

I understand options - but its not fastlane enough for me. I am getting into day trading and was wondering if anyone here has seen success. I would love to shadow trade any Toronto local and pick his/her brain about their trading strategy.

The thing I love the most about trading is you work on your own time and you can trade anywhere with an internet connection. It is absolutely great! I recommend trading to everyone that understands business.

To Op: I understand how come you feel like its not Fastlane because i've done something similar. From my analysis is because I look at money as a product , so for example you invest 1000 dollars and received 1200(20%) . But the thing is you only done it once. And that was key that's like selling one product for 1000 dollars and receiving 200 dollars profit less whatever expenses there are. Higher denominators are better but its still costing time also because investments take time to move. And only one product at a time. Do you get what im saying op or am I mad?

Oh really, and if 20% per week is not Fastlane, is 30%? At these rates, you'd be a billionaire in a few short years. I smell BS.

Yea and i'm one of those guys, I just dont get on this forum much because aholes who never done it before talk like they did something magical. To me 20% an't shit it takes 600% plus to get me feeling any kind of skepticism. They disappear because their busy making money to come on here and get the kind of skeptical bs post they receive.

Do you realize that at 600% per week it would only take 11 weeks to turn $1000 into $362 BILLION (I.e., the wealthiest person to ever live)?

If you could make .6% per week consistently you would be in the realm of Warren Buffet...

well I am referring to APR. Its common to make 20% one week but when I say 600% im talking about APR . Even the market has its limits in turning over money. It doesn't happen EVERY week. But you gotta prepare as if it were in order to get on. There are no off days, and i respect anyone that got "lucky" enough to keep doing it .

I developed an option trading strategy with a target of 15-20% return PER WEEK that was medium risk. I don't mind sharing this strategy to like minded people, but if you are calling B.S. right out of the gate I don't give a F what you think, I'm not here to change that.

I have a small account - each week I trade options - holding contracts for max 6 days OTM. On average I risk $5k to make $1k but risk is lessened due to the spread being OTM and rollable. DM me if you want to see some REAL LIFE trades from my account.

--

The reason I want to move to day trading is because half of my capital is tied up due to being assigned stocks I traded in my early day (before I developed the new trading strategy). I got assigned stocks such as CHK, GPRO, AUY. Being that I have a small account you get the picture.

I've been day trading stocks that have been gapping up pre-market - trading bull flags. So far I am in the negative. Practice makes perfect when you try to learn a new skill!

- +20% per week on options with $5k risk

- Negative for the week on day trading

Obviously avenues you know nothing about.

Perhaps you need to be a little more clear on what 20% returns per week means then?
You are starting with a $5K base. I think we are all assuming that you are compounding weekly @ 20%, which over the course of 52 weeks would be > $50M.
Even if you did not compound and just used $5k as a base each week, that would be $52K/year, which equates to an annual return of > 1000% on that $5K original investment. Those returns are unheard of and not sustainable. If they were, you would definitely be in the Fastlane and there would be no need to day trade or do anything else, for that matter.

This is why your claim is being received with skepticism. So, again, please clarify.

- +20% per week on options with $5k risk

It's not usual for big % gains in options on case-by-case positions. I've made as much as 5000% on option positions. The thing is, you'll never get that consistently, much less a weekly 20% consistency on a portfolio level. At 20% weekly, you should be a billionaire in a few short months, if not, years.

We're simply calling you out because you are being "click-baity" with your claims -- no one here doubts that you can make 50% on an option position. It's quite normal. However obtaining 20% weekly for an entire portfolio on a consistent, annual basis is frankly, as others have voiced, BS.

I think you underestimate the number of people here who have a great understanding of options, far beyond cursory knowledge.

Yep.

And I sure as hell am not making 20% this week! (although I am very happy with what I am making)

And I sure as shit have a lot more than a measly $5,000 at risk.

Oh yeah bro.. it's easy to hit 20% a week EVERY week with 100% consistency.. IT's so easy everyone's doing it.

Let me show you how easy it is:

1) buy calls
2) sell calls
3) buy puts
4) sell puts
5) PROFIT
6) PROFIT
7) BUY FERRARI
