Jakeeck, I've never met you but I second you getting a job. Or even a free internship under a successful entrepreneur. You're young right? And you're not even working 6 hour days?

Right now I have a corporate job and wake up at 3-4AM to work on writing. I'm writing on the bus/train during my 60-90 minute commute.

I also know where you are coming from. When I first I got laid off, I thought YES! Time to make my entrepreneurial dreams COME TRUE! But I couldn't work on an interesting projects since I had no money and it was hard to stay self disciplined, I averaged probably 3 hours of work a day.

Now that I have a corporate job, I'm living frugally so I can invest in real estate. I got a couple projects that I may work on that will cost 10k+ to launch, so that money is going to come in really handy. Plus of course I am developing a side hustle of writing.

Dude - do you have enough biz coming your way?
I'm at the point where I'm as busy as I want to be. Minus some tax issues I'm still ironing out. I get Job offers all the time. Building homes is a stressful, time consuming business. I'm good at what I do because I'll grind until it's perfectly flush, plumb and square. I can't build 400 homes a year by myself.and I don't want 50-100 employees I'll drop dead of a heart attack from all the stupid I'm enduring on a daily basis. It just doesn't suit my needs. which is watching my son grow up.

My writing is a "job." I work for other people and they pay me. The evidence that it's a job? I hate it.

Seriously though, I don't think the answer to my problem is getting a job. I know how much a job sucks, which is why I put myself in this position in the first place.

Wow you hate content mills? Why? I only do 4-5 articles a week so it's more of a hobby for me.

I don't love my job. But it is VERY VERY easy. Almost like a government job. Does not require much concentration. And I can work on my entrpreneurial stuff 2 hours a day because I have so much free time. I know the culture of this site is very anti-job, but they can be a good strategic move in some cases.

I think a possible trap for you in the future (hopefully it doesn't happen) that you're stuck in the same situation in 3-5 years. Content mills work, low standard of living. Which will hurt when 9-5 friends are going to have success. Launching businesses is hard when you have no capital.

I shouldn't say I hate the content mills themselves. They give me an amazing opportunity to work on my own schedule right from home. Just with almost any job, though, it starts to suck after a while, especially when you are writing about things you don't care about.

I can't wait for the day when I don't have to write for content mills to support myself anymore.

Set-up meeting with a prototype company. It is scheduled for this Wednesday. Rec'd their signed NDA. That's it but better then no progress at all.

Have you guys tried getting out of the house? Just go to your nearest library. Use a program to block websites that are timewasters. Boom!

Are you guys still doing this? Or if anyone is struggling with productivity I am calling you out, PM me and we can start our own progress thread aka "productivity duel." And I will prevail. :punch:

P.S. I did this on an addiction forum before, if you have a competitive personality going up against another person can work wonders for the goal you're trying to accomplish.

Well daylight savings happened on the east coast which means his 11:00 is now my 9:00 (time doesn't change in Mountain time zone), and I'm getting ready for bed at that point. I've pm'd 2 people from the forum today to get this going on Skype. I've already got one on there, waiting on a response from the other.

You're right about the competition thing. When I played online poker "professionally" that's how things were.
