Well I personally don't have a rig. I bought my two bit coins and after getting my a$$ handed to me, got away with doubling my two coins after the mint play. I am looking to do one or two more successful trades and then I should be able to afford one......at that point, I may hit you up for recommendations :)

Congrats Alty!

Taking a look at the big picture

Playboy begins accepting bitcoin http://www.coindesk.com/playboy-plus-accepting-bitcoin-payments/

and Falcon Capital is looking to raise $100,000,000 for it's new bitcoin fund and they also put in an offer to purchase the FBI seized coins

http://www.businessinsider.com.au/falcon-global-capital-offers-to-buy-the-fbis-bitcoins-2014-2

100 bitcoin atm's coming to spain in the next 3 months

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2014/02/23/100-bitcoin-atms-will-arrive-spain-next-three-months/

and a 10x fee reduction

"The current fee is (assuming a $500 exchange rate) about 5 dollar
cents. The new fee after this patch is 0.5 cents."

Replacing Western Union with lines of code

Great things happening

Jake have you seen this: http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2014...stores-bitcoin-keys-credit-card-sized-device/

I think its the coolest thing I've seen yet. To me that's the kind of thing that will be a game changer because people can get their heads around it, they can put it in and out of their wallet like a credit card...the whole skewmorphism thing (maybe I got the vocabulary wrong, I don't know the right word). I want it.

Have not. Thanks! That's pretty amazing and I hope that they can pull it off. Coinkite has made a bitcoin debit card www.coinkite.com but it only works with coinkite processing hardware so it's nowhere near as functional

And Gox. is. gone. Literally gone... site is no more.
BTC sub $500 atm on Coinbase. This may get good :)

I feel bad for those who used BTC Builder to buy into Gox. I really don't see what they were thinking. Course, maybe Gox will come back, but their inability to communicate makes them even worse than some of the shady companies on CryptoStocks.

Finally rid of Gox!

Sorry to all the people that had Fiat or BTC stuck there.

Been wanting them to die for a long time as they were a liability.

Mint is resting very stable today, and as long as it stays like that, it is making it very tempting for some day trading on MintPal.

If anybody want's to join me, I'll be buying at 40 or x amount and selling at 45 or 5 satoshis higher. This is micro trading and it is mainly for fun (it is not a pump and dump). Nothing over 1 btc per trade is worth doing, otherwise it'll affect the market too much (and that is not what I'm about) not only that it won't even be controllable with +1btc.

Disclaimer: the targets will obviously change if the market suddenly moves and I cannot be accountable for that. Also don't forget, daytrading is very risky!

Wow, mint is TOO stable today, it's difficult to squeeze tiny trades of 1.2% out from it...

In other news:

I'm back with the mint team as their project manager. Yes, WTF?

Long story short, we are going to work on our communication to avoid any more circumstances like something that took place yesterday between myself and the founder.

As long as we don't have serious internal issues, I'm back with them for the long term.

Just going to have to establish a team where I can delegate out various tasks, as much as possible; sleep is already disturbed enough!

SUCH MINT
SUCH ROCKET
SUCH BITCOIN

Honestly I think the bottom was found already at approx $400, can't see it going lower than that without another exchange closing or black swan event, can you?

I mean what exchange? I'm a newbie to bitcoin but it seems like it could be a fun gamble to throw a few dollars at. I'm reading this Mt. Gox thing as saying some places/exchanges are safer than others..is that right?

www.coinbase.com if you're in the U.S is easy to use and very reputable
www.bitstamp.com is a proper exchange an suitable for trading. Also one of the main avenues for buying outside of the U.S
www.localbitcoins.com if you want fast or semi-anonymous

Mintcoin is unusually stable today. It's the calm before the storm. The first payout from minting/PoS is due for payout in the next 24 hours. People are waiting to see if it will work. Some people are panic selling just in case it doesn't. Others are buying in just in case it does. The next 24 hours should be interesting.

I did a review of their codebase. It is a fork of Novacoin which has been working fine. I have no reason to believe it won't work as expected although I didn't do a testnet test of it.

Anyone willing to invest in bitcoins with the current prices as they are.I mean i'm no expert and don't want to play the game of trying to guess the market, but right now it just seems to be like the right time tp hope for somewhat of 20-30% return.Reason for 500$/btc in the first place is the downfall of mt.gox

I bought my first two at 850 and 675.....I really don't give a shit if they drop another 50 percent. All that matters is that I own some and that I can get more. Once you go BTC and taste a small victory, you never go back :)

Ok, looks like someone is fiddling with the mint price......it's been way too stable. What would be the correct course of action for us little guys?

Is this normal for a cryptocurrency.....starts with a nice rise once the coin is realeased and then someone buys up a large position, waits for an opportune time, then dumps their load, then the currency drops back down and, hopefully, rebounds to a more reasonable price?

Lately it seems like its more like, coin is released, people immediately start complaining they want an exchange, coin goes on exchange(s), multipools slam the coin and auto-dump killing the price, coin dev implements kimoto gravity well, people hype block halving like its going to double the coin price overnight, block halving comes, price rises a bit, people dump...then the 2nd wave of people come in, take over the coin, fix things, start building infrastructure etc., whales start coming in, and if you're lucky value starts to rise and stabilize.

...or something like that. When I plan out my coins I've got like a 3-6 month schedule in mind. People expect everything to happen in the first 3 days. Crazy.
