I sell life insurance part time. I got alot of other things going on that keeps me busy. Wife works part time, makes descent money in her local business. My 4 and 5 year old are really starting to demand alot of our time, so I'm looking to start working from home doing online marketing.

Selling life insurance cold like door knocking, has taught me alot about selling and how to be a salesman. Life insurance is probably one of the hardest products to sell. Most folks need it, but don't want to pay for it.

I am a Network Security Manager at a consulting company, also filling in for the Director of IT role. Love the company, good pay, good benefits, great bonus's.
However I just need my exit strategy so I am here to soak up the knowledge to figure out what I direction I should go. Maybe affiliate marketing just to store up a nest egg to do something bigger. Start small and look for other oportunities. I am not a developer but maybe look into an app that brings in a little money just to cover small expenses. Anything comming in is better than nothing.

I work in a restaurant, I'm the guy who makes pizzas (lol...). I never went to college because I couldn't afford it so when I've tried hiring in other places they either required a college diploma or work experience of at least 2 years in the domain for which I applied. I worked in call centers, advertising, and on EA's game testing. Turned to internet marketing because you don't need a stupid diploma to make it, no one cares about your race, gender, how you look, etc. None of these superficial factors. I'm pretty sure that the internet is the only place where the ammount of work is equal to the ammount of revenue. Plus, I don't like to be ordered around by incompetent, obvious fools who don't know a thing about life and social relations with other people.

Professional voice talent...yeah, it's what you think and what you would have no idea about unless someone in the business told you!

Started an advertising agency 6 months ago, my job consists of finding great sales talent and making the right media-choices for our clients. We outsource everything else (from idea to production).

Was in nightlife before (never again)
We need to talk...
I'm a young music video director. Started 2 years ago and now I'm one of the top directors in my city. Helped a rapper my age (19) get signed under a division of Epic Recordings. Got "picked up" by Machine Gun Kelly's (Rapper Also) label to work with his artist, learn, and gain more experience.

I'm now trying to learn more about marketing to help brand myself more and increase opportunities.
...you need to pm me...
Im 26 - will be 27 this summer and working as a full time electrical engineer in the power industry.... I also own about 150 domains, have a few comic related blogs (that get me press pass to every comic con :) ), some various micro niche websites, and I buy/sell just about any collectible - from video games to comics
...you have one of the coolest occupations on the internet...
It seems I'm the only one so far, but I'm a software developer by trade. My current job is QA Engineer at one of the top 3 grossing facebook game companies (we like to gamble). I get paid pretty well for my experience.. I have 1 year of normal QA experience on enterprise applications and half a year as a software developer and I make $55k. Not amazing but I'm contracted right now so I get paid double on overtime, which I do fairly frequently. My last job I worked 60 hours a week for $40k no recognition, no raise, and ended up getting fired. Hated that situation. It was in the throes of hating myself and that job that I discovered this forum and MJs book.

I settled for this job because I get paid a lot to sit around with high tech mobile devices and hit buttons. Yep, that's my entire job. hit buttons on iPad 4s and iPhone 5s all day. Very low stress, I'm much healthier, and I have the brainspace to work on personal projects like the app I've decided on.

...and you have the type of job I wanted when I was in corporate America!

Still working in my fathers shop picking up a decent wage (for a slow-laner).. Turn 25 at the end of March so i'm going to apply for my Private Hire Taxi badge too working between there and my fathers shop (going to be doing some crazy hours but i have a goal) i should hopefully bring in £850 a week ($1380).. Going to save up as much as possible then invest in a few cars (my previous trade) just buying them cheap valeting them turning them over from a small profit but profit is profit at the end of the day.
Once iv saved enough im going to try get a few property's to rent out for my future.

I am the head analyst for an online marketing company. I create and manage campaigns in adwords and do client site analysis and create the plan of attack for the rest of the team. I get to telecommute 2 days a week and at night I am figuring out what my comeback revenue stream will be. My day time gig is the first W2 i've had in about 8 years.

I'm 27 and a CPA by profession, went the big Four route, then the internal audit route, then I thought I was going Fastlane by starting my own tax prep business - although business is great, I recently realized that I just created a glorified job for myself.

Started actually reading 2 years ago, including TFM, and realized that I need a different approach to really go Fastlane. Changed my business model, hired tax analysts, and I'm now focused on growing the business rather than churning out tax returns. My full time job is making connections and adding value to my clients.

One thing I am still wrestling with is how to reach more people (thinking nationally or even globally) as opposed to local clientele. Overall pleased with the progress.

@D11FYY good to see another Scot on here.

I am a warehouse manager at the moment yet I have a new member of staff adding to my team this coming week that will take the care of running the warehouse and I am to begin a more technical, office based job. I do not regret having taken a job at 16 and growing with the company because it has opened up the opportunity to grow my man management skills and a lot of other lessons that I will take with me onto my future ventures.

Unfortunately that takes away my best and most productive hours of the day and I am spending long nights and weekends working on my first start up.

I work for a smaller IT solutions provider as inside sales support. My job is to do anything that frees up my AE's to focus on revenue generating activities.

I make a solid wage for what I'm asked to do and was able to convince them to let me work from home full time. I hope to use this opportunity working from home to start up a side business as my hours are flexible; within reason.

I'm pretty much topped out for earning potential the only way to make more is to go outside sales and so far I've really resisted that path. I think if I am going to put that much time and effort into a job I want to be doing it for myself.

I'm from an consultancy (IT division) company, Production Maintenance and Support and yes, routinely we do maintenance for our clients application, been doing it for almost 8yrs now (do I ever get bored?!).

So far, the promotion, the onshore assignments and a good little management position is where I am today. This gave me an advantage to control little bit of my time (e.g. working from home, I can go to work anytime and leave anytime - integrity here!) and I'm gonna use it to start my jump to the FASTLANE.

Time to follow what the small voice in my head is saying - "there is another way!"

By the way, regards to everyone.

I'm from the South side of Aberdeen mate. I am 23 but the reason I am where I am in my work is because I've put the effort and hours in, nothing to do with age. A lesson from TMF I relate so well with is to exceed expectations. Not only customers but also work colleagues and superiors. Great practice for when you have your own company. Thanks for the kind words.

If you can't be a$$ed giving 100% to the company you are at just now, how are you going to be a$$ed putting in MORE effort into your own company after the initial motivation fades?

Thats it mate nothing worth having comes easily wither it be position in job or effort regards in getting something.
Yeah definitely that's like my work one of the girls is extremely lazy so its starting to wear off on the other two but my dads been keeping a close eye on them as of late. Crazy how it rubs off on people.
If i'm ever up near Aberdeen I will give you a shout for a beer or lunch mate.

I live in Hong Kong and work in asset management, buying and selling stocks in a mutual fund. The hours are good, it's interesting, and it pays well. I've got to say I love my job, and the main thing is that I'm learning so much at it. I want to get as much as I can out of it for several years before maybe going independent in the industry, which requires quite a bit of experience.

Overnight stocking so I can work on my business in the day. The only job that made sense to strive for the fastlane and gives me a workout. I used to be in HelpDesk Support and Server Maintenance but 9-5 plus late night calls aren't good for getting a business started.
