I have never been very savvy with internet marketing, especially when it comes to affiliates/seo/etc. so I am looking for a bit of help and guidance.

In my previous post, here
https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/id...reased-annual-rental-profit-150k-2-years.html

I explained that I had written an eBook on property management and how I have increased profit pretty significantly. I have had about 100 people visit the site so far (launched Sunday night), and am at 9 sales. The problem is, I am losing traffic and I'm not sure what to do about it.

I had about 250 email addresses for apartment complexes that I had dug up, and I also posted on several property management forums. I have created Facebook and LinkedIn pages and am actively recruiting property managers and referring them to the site.

In the interim, I was hoping to drive additional traffic through affiliate marketing. Hopefully someone with more experience can clarify this for me, but my understanding is that it works like this:

  1. I list my product/website on a website for affiliates to choose.
  2. I offer affiliates a % or a flat rate per sale they get.
  3. Affiliates post a link to the product on their website (which will most likely be property management related)
  4. Once they sell a book, they get a commission.
  5. Profit :)

Is that a reasonable understanding of how the process works? If so, who do you recommend going with? I have been looking at Clickbank but I don't know much about it.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Still looking for guidance on affiliates, but I have gone ahead and started marketing through Google Adwords, Bing Ads, and Facebook Ads. Definitely seeing an increase in traffic and it is pretty cool seeing my ad on the side of search results. It would be cooler if I was selling a few hundred copies. :)

Yeah you can def use clickbank.

If you put it up there, I could go and promote it.

I've never put anything up there as a vendor, I have only promoted products - but I am sure it would be a straightforward process.

I know it will cost you about $50 to list it on ClickBank (CB).

And you got your little numbered process pretty well right :)

Suppose there is any way we can go around CB and have you promote it directly? :coolgleamA:

I am curious to see the site that you are currently using.

- Is it a landing page ?
- Does it capture data from interested leads ?
- Can you purchase the book from that site in simple easy steps ?
- Does the site design speak a professionally to viewers to let them know this is QUALITY content ?

You can do a giveaway with a larger site that has a lot of traffic in your target market. First 100 receive a free copy of the eBook. This can do wonders in terms of generating a lot of traffic, which in turn should generate more sales.

I work at a design and development agency and have to do this kind of work regularly for clients. Definitely can help in this area.

9 sales in a matter of days?

If you ask me, you're doing a lot better than most people that launch an ebook.

Yes, you are somewhat correct with the affiliate process. But it depends how deep down the rabbit-hole you want to go.

The problem is that just putting your product on vendor programs like clickbank, ect, will not neccessarily mean that affiliates will promote it.

You will have to actively recruit affiliates.

How do you do this?

By making people aware that you got an affiliate opportunity and that they can find it at clickbank (or wherever you are hosting the ebook).

You can go about this by finding people with large real estate email lists that might be interested in promoting your affiliate offer. You can find these type of people on afffiliate forums.

Other ways you can increase your sales are:

-building an email list than email marketing.

- capturing leads with facebook ads and fanpage

- media buys

- offline media buys (local newspapers ect)

These methods can be very effective if you capture the leads on landing pages and squeeze pages. With an email list the lifetime customer value increases beyond your ebook because you can continue to market related products to your leads. Ofcourse , the right sales funnel will be needed.

Hope this helps.

Contact me if you want any more specific info. I'll try help you out. Im actually writing articles on these topics so I thought i'd share this for people that might need the help.
