Sponsoring a hole or range at a charity golf tournament.

Hi guys. I will be playing in a charity golf tournament on Monday. It is for the University of Houston sales department, of which my intern came from. The students are tasked with selling out this tournament and that is actually how I met her a few months back after she got me to play in a tournament I had no interest playing in by presenting huge networking value 🙄. She is a great salesperson!

Now she has asked me to possibly sponsor a hole or the driving range and I am considering it. They would put my company on a big sign by the hole or range. If I could get just one decent commercial customer out of it, it would be worth it, but I have never sponsored anything before and have no idea how well this kind of stuff works. The driving range sounds better even though I won't be the only sponsor.

50% of people at this tournament will be heavy hitting business owners/people with deep pockets, perfect prospects. I am thinking the risk is worth the reward here.

Anyone ever sponsor something like this? How did it go?

I already have $150 in this thing just to play, a course that I am already a member at 🙄. Thoughts?

I want to say its just 600 bucks, what the hell, but if it gets me nothing I will be a good bit pissed off.
