Droid X here with Verizon! Personal phone with NO connection to my job.

Purchased specifically because of the insanely large, 4.3" screen size, giving me a USEABLE browser with which to hop on the Internet when needed (usually to access my trading accounts in a pinch when work does not allow me to do so during the day, or when I am away from my office and need constant access to a computer). :) Also comes in handy constantly for comparing prices on things when I am in retail stores, checking movie showtimes, bank-accounts, awesome navigation feature, Facebook, notes, email, Calorie Counter, games while you are waiting for appointments, etc.

I've only had a smart phone for about a year, but now that Im used to one I dont think i could ever go back. For YEARS I never understood the obsession with smartphones, and used to tease my friends about being obsessed with their phones (not to mention paying $30 per month extra) when they had Blackberries and Iphones, and I was still using a basic bare-bones LG Flip phone (LOL). My interest was finally tempted when I gave in and bought a blackberry, and went to full out obsession when I bought my Droid last fall. They are just incredible phones. :)

Motorola Razr. Not a smart phone. I don't want any opportunity to be reached by email when I'm out and about.

Best regards.

I just have a crappy little Tracfone but I really like it. Every few months I buy a card for $20 or $30 and I'm good to go. Now that Verizon has the iPhone I may upgrade but I love how cheap my current phone is so I'm reluctant to switch.

Loyal HTC phone user because the screen takes a fingernail tap vs needing the pad of a finger to navigate. Unlimited minutes, unlimited text/MMS & unlimited data running the (currently, but soon to change) WinMo OS -going over to Android soon here.

Blackberry. Pictures & e-mail to communicate with my property manager regarding units, text for quick info bites to my business contacts. Weather channels before travel. ESPN in a quiet moment.

I do hate being connected 24/7 regarding some things, but I just leave it behind when I go out with the wife on date nite. I own it, it does not own me.

iPhone - all the way!! I use it all the time. I don't even use my laptop as much anymore. Anything I want to look up or whatever, I do it right then and there. I thought about it years ago before I first got an iphone, I wanted a PDA, a decent phone, a digital camera, and an MP3 player, it was cheaper/ easier to get it all in one. I wouldn't want to use anything else.

This is surprising so far... I was expecting a landslide of iPhone users... that does not seem to be the case.

Keep them coming!

BB Storm 2. Had a curve back in the day then switch to the 1st gen storm and got the 2nd gen when it came out. Getting my e-mails instant is a must since I deal with people all over the world in different time zones. A lot of my clients are on BBM which makes things nice as well.

My office line is always forwarded to my cell which can be a little annoying as I'll get calls in the early morning hours but I just put it on silent and get to them when I get up. When I'm out with the GF though there is no biz calls, e-mails or texting. She can't stand competing with the phone. lol

Blackberry 8530 with Sprint service. So far, so good. Will have had it for a year in April.

Before that I had 2 flip phones with basic functions. I would never go back.

Someone gave us a Xbox kinnect over Christmas; got a Window7 phone couple wees later. Amazing how MSFT hit it out of the park on BOTH devices in a span of 60 days after doing jack/nothing over the past decade.

If we didn't have younger nieces/nephews to keep in touch with, the android is a better phone - but limited on apps and cross platform applications.

THe Kinnect XBOX is pretty solid technology. There are doubtlessly all types of kinnect/smartphone link possibilities and applications awaiting to be developed by the techno-driven entrepreneur!

Anyone on verizon switching to the iphone ? I know the pre-sale was sold out in 17 hours but it was available to everyone today I think.

If so, what did you switch from and why ?

My friend was on Verizon and got the new Iphone. She told me it drops alot more calls than Verizon normally does. In fact it happened when I was talking to her today as she was driving. She wasn't sure if it was because of the phone itself or if the Verizon network was just overloaded now that they have the Iphone.

Blackberry Curve.... email, internet, maps etc, all for just £5 a month. It had proven invaluable.

I was tempted by an iPhone, but in reality I dont want to pay £35 per month for 2 years! And I know most of the apps I wont use.

I switched from BB to a Captivate (Samsung Galaxy S) I had thought this would be an issue as well. Really i get emails the same speed as my blackberry did with email push. It's certainly a different story if you have a BES that your routing emails through, but if you are a standalone user with email push the devices all push the same.

I've noticed a lot of BB in the corporate world, many are issued by the companies. The U.S. Government is also using blackberry. Funny thing is, they don't use apps, it is only an email reader for the most part.

The Android market is interesting, users expect to get the apps for free. The iPhone world expects to pay for good quality apps. Win7 is still an enigma for me, although building apps for that platform has been relatively easy as it uses the same .Net platform as all the other web applications, so there are lots of developers with the knowledge to build apps quickly.

My experience building apps for the blackberry was not too god up until three or four weeks ago, but the latest development tools have improved. Developing for the Blackberry Playbook (their iPad competitor) was also interesting, but I am not sure how that market will behave.

Thanks for sharing, and please keep them coming.

Oops I meant Epic.

I really am not into phones. Since I work from home I'm hardly on my cell phone. I just walked in the store and bought one. Turned out to be a decent phone. I didn't even know it had a slide out keyboard until a few days later. LOL

Ahh i thought you were making an intentional joke. You have what a few others and myself have, its the galaxy S phone. I like it minus the fact that Samsung is 2 whole firmware updates behind.

The gov't has an issue with us using the internet right now over the added expense. There is talk about using a smart phone in the near future. Some are testing its use now.
