I'm 31 and currently working in Information Security, earning around $140K in NYC. Over the past four years, I’ve spent a lot of money chasing short-term desires instead of building long-term wealth. At one point, I had $100K saved — now I’m $35K in debt. I’ve tried things like crypto investing and nearly lost a lot of money there too. After all that chaos, I’ve realized I want to build something meaningful. After the love of my life, who was incredibly business-savvy and always encouraged me to start my own business, left me, I decided it’s finally time to take that advice seriously. I want to build a real business, something that can eventually let me leave my job and live life on my own terms. I’d love to have the freedom to spend more time doing what I enjoy, like playing guitar and learning new languages. A friend actually told me about this forum about 8 years ago. Back then, I ignored it because I was focused on landing my dream job and was in school. Now that I’ve been through the grind, I’m here to read, learn, and take advice from all of you.
