I’ve barely any free time for myself or time to spend with kids let alone entertaining random ponderings from someone who might do something.

Just a pleasant conversation. Not much I can give them. And if I offer something, it will sound like a sales pitch (I think). But I am willing to change my approach. Also I do not tell people that I need it because I might do something (dah) I just say that I would like to know their story.
