A DARE to get Laid...
Today marks the first time I truly risked my life in the most stupid, idiotic and DARE (Downside asymetric risk event) way possible.
I said at some point on the forum, that I wouldn't get a bike here. I change my stance on that since there is basically no car traffic here and it's the only way to get around.
I was on tinder at 11pm and felling "it" (first mistake) then I got a match with a stunningly beautiful female who was eager to meet up with me at midnight at her place (mistake 2). I knew there must be a catch (and there was) but my brain did not do the thinking.
Since I didn't want to wake my friend, I just quietly left without telling anyone where I was going (mistake 3).
I won't count me taking my bike as a mistake since it is the thing that saved the day in the end.
At around 00:15 I arrive in this sketch dead end alleyway to the Google coordinate location she sent me. She even sent some pics of her in front of a hotel sign to prove it's not a catfish.
But there was a machination far more sinister than catfishing at hand - I had failed to properly check her profile and was therefore completely unaware.
Back in the alleyway. It smelled like Sewers and there were some fallen down power lines. A storm earlier had knocked them down.
Streetlights were nowhere to be found. It was dark and sparsely lit by the lights coming from windows and the street.
The maps location led me to nowhere (rather, somewhere in the bushes).
At this point I had turned off my bike and taken off the helmet, which I then put in the trunk.
I text her that I cant find her place and, upon her request, send her my location (mistake 4).
A few minutes later I see three bikes approaching my location. Time slowed down and I realized what I had gotten myself into.
My life was over. It was a trap and they were coming for me. This smelly alley is the place it all ends for me.
Then it came to me, my only hope.
Almost reflexively I reach into my bag, pull out the tactical pen I always carry with me. The only important tactical feature is the glassbreaker tip it has. As their lights fill the space around me I prepare for a final stand (mistake 5) before I am either robbed, kidnapped or have my organs harvested.
But they just pass on. It was all in my head.
Then I get a text from her to come to the street. She apologizes for the location being inaccurate. Nervously I make my way to the street, the pen still in my pocket, ready to strike.
After a roughly a minute I see her approaching on an old scooter. It's good to mention now, that my scooter is a 125 Hond Kick of the newest series and has a lot of, well, kick. Over the last week I had grown a little accustomed to it and that, coupled with my half finished German motorcycle training makes me enjoy driving it up to 40kmh.
She stops next to me and takes off the helmet. While she says "Hi" time slows down once more. My brain becomes hyper aware of the poor choices I have made and of the surroundings. My bike is roughly 200m away from me. The girl is inviting me to sit behind her. I notice the long black hair, the slight sweat on her skin. She is a little taller than me and has high cheekbones. But more than that, I notice the rather broad shoulders and masculine Jawline. I examine the voice. It's unlike any female voice I have ever heard. It is a solid tenor voice with a shaky resonance.
Then, in my brain it feels like I travel back in time to my room. There I have a red marker on her profile. Just a small little detail. A single word.
Trans.
Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity how do I get out of this. What if he knows Muah Thai.
But I remember something else from the fastlane. Solve problems for other people.
My brain is back and I tell him, "Hey, mind if I take my bike and follow you ? Then you don't need to drop me off." With my recent singing and general performance experience I manage to get this sentence off without breaking a sweat and I keep the friendly poker face. He is happy but follows me to my bike on his scooter. At this point I have decided that I need to make a Houdini exit.
With a headstart I can surely outpace him.
My brain is back to doing its thing and remembers that most Ladyboys ask for money afterwards. Pretending to be considerate I ask him, "You take PayPal ?". From a random video years ago, I remembered that people like him usually only use cash.
Like clockwork he replies that he only takes cash.
My chance.
I look him in the eyes, smile as seductively as I can and say "Alright, I'll get you some cash then. Just lemme go to the ATM at 7/11 down the road.
I jump on my bike and head down the main road to where I live. Quick info on the layout here, there is basically one big road that goes around the island and then alleys that go off from there.
I turn the gas handle and accelerate to 70kmh in town without a helmet on (mistake 6, though this was not downside asymetric. Dying is a risk I gladly take here.).
By the grace of my good bike and skill of weaving through the few cars that were on the street, I make it home. While driving I was thinking "1% chance of death" over and over again.
0/10 experience, won't do again.
Now I have clearly decided to stay away from everything sketchy and stupid. My life is worth it.
Back home I may need to go to therapy . The experience was indeed severely disturbing and makes me want to stay in the apartment for the rest of my days here.
Time to train crossfit every day at the gym next door.
Best thing I’ve read in a month. Freaking hilarious and you did a great job writing! I was feeling like being right there and experiencing everything with you. What a trip lol.
So many lessons … only one thing I don’t get… since you didn’t stop at 7/11 for cash, so how did you pay her/him after the old scooter finally got to your home?
hahahaha
