I recently published a game on Steam and it has been selling better than I anticipated. This has me thinking about the commandment of control; my initial thought is that selling via Steam is a violation of the commandment of control. However, Steam owns approximately 75% of the gaming market and has over one hundred million monthly active users. This makes me think that Steam is the marketplace to a large extent.
I'm just curious on other's perspectives on this - is this a violation of the commandment of control? Obviously I can Steam-proof things by creating a mailing list (I already have a discord server where I can interact directly with players) and doing my best to build my other social media channels, however, realistically nothing I do is going to compete with Steam's domination of the market.
