Does anyone have any advice? -

a family member (immediate family member) that is unsuccessful and lazy beyond means, with a fixed mindset continues to spit the following poison on me.. And from what I've read I believe I'm dealing with a deep narcissist:

"I read all the books you read when I was younger, it's all BS, trust me, you'll come back to earth. You're just living in fantasy land right now. One day you'll realize."

My response is "No. I don't want to realize. Whatever "realize" means in your world, I want to do the complete opposite. I will never "realize"."

What do you want me to realize? That life sucks and I should just suck it up? Like W-T-F?

Hearing this once sometimes messes up my motivation and emotions for hours. Causing me to question myself.

Has anyone had to deal with this? What did you do? Is the best option to move and get the hell away from them?

Thanks
I’m actually going to record a show this week on the fact that we, the entrepreneurs, have proof of being right.

Stop having any fastlane related discussions with people that don't want to understand this concept.

People have the freedom to chose their own destiny. They made their choice, you made yours.

5 years from now, all the people that are currently telling you "it's not possible", are going to call you "lucky".

Stay on the path. Say less. Execute the process.
Success will happen.

@thechosen1 thanks for the tag.

Mike, how are you getting involved in these chats? Are you initiating them? Are you trying to tell someone "hey, listen, look how great these books are!!!!" and then being frustrated with a response? Why do they even begin this chat with you?

Don't tell. Stop. It's not about what you say, it's about what you do.

Show them. When you have a 8-9 figure Net Worth and one of them asks "how?" you can then gently test the waters with "are you sure you want the real answer?" Most people even then will just think "Mike got lucky with the market and his idea, I wish I was lucky like that but my situation was different".
You are absolutely right.

Something I said, just to spark a conversation lead to an indirect passive-aggressive attack on me, which I sensed, and it lead to this being said.

Agreed.

I will also add, don’t talk about it until YOU (not heavy_industry, YOU the person reading this) fully understand what “fastlane” means.

Namely the difference between self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Anyone that tries to reason entrepreneurship into: luck, a scam, not a real career, unrealistic, or a waste of time is someone that doesn’t know where their bread comes from.

if this person is not who you want to be one day, do not follow their advice. in fact, use it as proof your direction is the right one.

then listen to some david goggins and GET BACK TO WORK!

I'm starting to like David Goggins.

Whenever it's time for the next ice bath and I don't feel like it, I wish myself "Merry Christmas" and I get in.

(To the readers: please don't try to do this, it's very dangerous. I have months of training to cold exposure and it's been a gradual process.)

I would just like to add that you need some kind of strong clear vision. If these type of chats are throwing you off your fastlane journey and mindset, then I know what else with throw you off, other opportunities.

A better job, a business idea that isn’t fastlane, they’ll come along and distract you. Oh, I can make more money now doing this job, maybe that will make me happy. Next thing you know you have no free time to work on your business, which is why you were working a lower paying job in the first place.

This isn’t aimed at anyone in particular but it was in my head while reading these last few comments.

Better yet, get it done before you do anything else. Many "dreaded" tasks can be finished in the time it takes between taking your first sip of coffee and the time when you gotta take a shit.

This might be met with outrage and indignation, but I am asking the question genuinely... when you own a 10,000 square foot home, are there any ways that you consider using it for business or for monetization? Obviously you can use it for branding and marketing, but I'm curious if there's anything else you do with such a huge house that might offset some of the costs, or if in this case, it's purely a private paradise. Either way, I think it's very awesome :)
I don't know if it's been mentioned, and it might depend on the location but you could offer it to movie/tv production companies.
Also depending on where in the world you are but you can often pay reduced property taxes if you find a way to qualify for farm tax

Touching on a journey I’m embarking on. I find this incredibly inspiring.

If you can go 48 hours without food… You can be any weight you want.

I’ve already gone 48 hours several times now. There’s also enormous health benefits to fasting we don’t need to get into.

I plan to donate every article of clothing I own when I get to 170.

Fasting is super powerful! I had a complete mindset shift from “missing a meal is a sign of an eating disorder!!” To “fasting is a healthy and normal tool in your tool belt towards getting fit”

It’s all about the way you do it.

There’s also a greater than 100% chance of contracting deadly meningitis at a public library.

I know this is an old post, but how the hell can there be a "greater than 100% chance" of contracting anything anywhere? Although I guess there's a tiny chance I might have missed the hyperbole flag.

While no-one is discussing window cleaners any more, mine just called and it cost me £10. Either he's very cheap, or I don't have as many windows as you guys all have.

That's awesome @Kak !

It's interesting how the first day of fasting goes: you go to bed ravenously hungry, and you wake up with 0 hunger but with maximum happiness and mental clarity.

Yeah.

Such as curing cancer.

No big deal. ;)

Mark my words: Fasting-induced autophagy is going to be the future of medicine, and will extend the human life-span and health-span by another 20 years.

Looking forward to celebrating my 100th year old birthday on the fastlane forum, while squatting 400 pounds and having $1bn in my bank account.

$1bn will be the price of a 3 bedroom home by then

Looking forward to hearing how this goes. While I can't do the Shono Pushup Challenge due to muscle tears, I can attempt the KAK Fast Challenge.

And good on you for the donation that is amazing. Gonna be some well dressed dudes sporting the former clothes of a business titan, sure some sort of new success will rub off on them.

Content that uses publicly available information (for instance, from ChatGPT) just isn't as good as content that comes from experience or the black box of people's minds. That's why podcasters like Tim Ferris, who bring on high level guests, or Joe Rogan (same thing), are so successful. They might not even offer much from their own lives anymore (how can they after hundreds of episodes? It would be an entire autobiography and nobody's life is interesting enough for 1000 episodes all about just them), but they are bringing new stuff into the world every episode.

If your book, movie, article, etc. is just repeating something you found on the internet, it just won't be that good. Even if it's repeating something you found in another book, it's still second order.

It needs to be something that has never been recorded before to be truly new. That makes it special.

The biz model of expanding franchises and selling buildings at low cap rates to fuel more franchises might be the greatest business ever.

Everyone thinks you need to own the real estate to get rich, but the opposite approach might actually be the fastest path to a 9-figure company

I agree.

With the rate I’m losing weight though, I’m going to wish I was fatter so I could do this more.

Anticipating a move from large shirts to medium and 36 inch waist to 32.

I’m combining with weight lifting to keep and even build additional muscle mass.

I’ll be in better shape than any time of my life in a few months and I’ll have the recipe to keep it off.

Hey I feel like America has a lot more inflation than it seems.
Window cleaners getting 300 or more for a small house, engineers earning 100k a year and a roll up banner costs 120$.

In Germany with the euro, window cleaners get about 150 to 200 at most, a engineer earns 50 to 60k a year, and the same banner costs 80€.

Just some food for thought. I though of this when I noticed that it seems like every new guy who has a job here earns six figures and more.

In Germany you guys have WAY less disposable income and wages are atrocious compared to most other countries.

That's why stuffs cheaper, but really it's not cheaper.

This is the way! Combine that with a higher % of protein in your diet, and you will blow the doors off.
