Just wanted to throw this idea out there, I think I am really starting to understand the power of recommendations after joining and conversing with people on Nextdoor. I think I am understanding more of the material that I read in MJ books. So as another fellow Fastlaner I spoke to said. I am trying to turn up my Idea-Finding frequency.

On the NextDoor in my location, two people have posted the following:

They have lost their own private possessions, one got stolen, another was lost. I believe their could be a need here, something that I may look into more. A service that provides a gadget that you can use to find your most prized possessions if they were lost or stolen. The device itself would have to have GPS and Mobile Device data capabilities. It could be a device that you would pay for itself and then a subscription. The user would have a dashboard that would be able to locate their stolen or lost goods and view it from a Map perspective, thus you could go and find your stolen goods very easily.

I am sure their might be competitors that already do this, but it's almost similar to the "Find My iPhone" functionality.

Just thought I'd write this thread, I found it very cool that I think I am starting to understand how to find idea's that could be pursued.

Apple does this with the AirTag. I guess some big companies have alternatives too.

Now you have to find a way to compete against them. Maybe with more customization?

If I understand correctly AirTag uses bluetooth technology to locate your items. The alternative would be to use Mobile Data so that you could find your items from further distances than what bluetooth could provide.

This could be costly though. Depends on how much that mobile data would cost per month, shouldn't be much.

But the idea would be to place a small device that has mobile and GPS services built in and you can login through app just as you could with Apple, but you wouldn't be limited on the distance.

I would have to read up on this a bit more.

Damn didn't know Apple had already got into the space. Haha! But yes.
Also Tile predates them by a ways too. Apple has the benefit of turning every single one of their mobile devices into reporters on their Find My network by default, so you don't have to wait for someone to find the tracker and figure out what to do with it before it starts showing up on the map.

Ordinarily, I'd say that a massive company like Apple doing a product is a proof of market need, which means there's niches you can get into and exploit as a smaller mover. In this case... Well, there's other ideas out there.

I wonder if I could actually tap into smaller markets since their's proof of need for this kind of service. I was looking at a Website called Websiteclosers.com who services Ecommerce stores and selling their businesses. I was inspired to see so many exists, but also the sheer amount of stores and the different kinds of products they sold. I found one where a guy sold Car vinyl's for the anime & gaming industry. Kinda crazy haha. But cool to see that these stores solved some kinda of problem and the potential that was still in ecommerce today.

Thanks for showing me these two products by the way.
