I don't know about anyone else, but I've had some pretty terrible ideas after a few beers.

I've always felt I'm a lot more creative and come up with great ideas and get things done after making some chili. I make my chili with a cup of Guinness and a cup of Pete's Major Dickinson's Blend coffee...maybe this explains it :coolgleamA:

Can't go wrong with the best of both worlds.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've had some pretty terrible ideas after a few beers.

1st: Great infographic, it's 100% true for me.

2nd: I often will drink 1-2 times a week to blow off steam, and kind of relax from the stresses of the world around me. It's much easier to unwind after a drink or two. Also, I am definitely more creative when I drink alcohol, but not as much in the business sense. Although, occasionally, writing sales copy comes easier after a beer or two (no joke).

However, in a social setting, alcohol opens me up and sparks creativity in social contexts. Although, toe the line, and I start getting drunk, is when it all goes down hill.

Moderation is key. :)

When I've been stuck on copy (my resume several years ago for one example), I've had a good few beers and written some great copy.

Yes, I did re-read it sober before sending it off - got me lots of interviews (unfortunately my execution - of interview preparation - sucked...)

Hmmm, I've always had it backwards...coffee in the AM and beer in the PM.

I'll have to try this. Wake-up and have a couple of beers. Then crank-up the coffee pot.

Beer does help me work through tedious tasks. I play some music, open a 6-pack, and can get through an entire evening of color correction or rotoscoping without hating life. Just so long as the tasks don't require THINKING and are all muscle memory is the key.

I don't notice significant creativity boosts from alcohol.. Mainly because I can't focus enough to be creative on anything that matters.

Or keep coffee in the AM and beer in the PM, but just change the tasks you do. Creative action at night.. followed up by action the next morning (with coffee). Your brain will kill you waking up to a beer.
