Doesn't matter if they're from the past or the present. It can be in any field of life; relationships, business, entertainment, sports, religion, politics and so on. Who would you talk to?

Here's who I would pick:
1. Jesus. Would love to talk to the person who invented religion. And his philosophy on life in general would be interesting to hear.
2. Henry Ford. He's the guy who made cars global and invented our traditional 9-5 system.
3. Abraham Lincoln. It would be fascinating to listen to his whole life story, how he overcame so many obstacles on his road to becoming a president, and how he ended the african slavery in the United States.

Would love to hear your thoughts too!

#3: Gunter Dueck. This is a German mathematician who talks a lot about how managers and politicians are afraid to give away their own power. Meanwhile, progress is halted and hindered completely.

#2: Donald Trump. I think that Trump is someone who polarizes the society a lot and I could learn a lot from him since I also think that I am a guy that people tend to like or hate a lot. Also, I like that he failed a lot but still managed to stand up and grow.

Honorable mention: MJ DeMarco. Thank you MJ for providing us a great opportunity to talk to all the successful people in this forum. Also a huge thank you to all the entrepreneurs in this forum that provide great insights into their own lives.

#1: Petro Poroshenko. If you want to achieve everything, this is the ultimate proof that it is possible no matter what the circumstances are. Poroshenko did not only become a PhD and a dollar billionaire in a corrupt country but he was also a great president for Ukraine. Poroshenko's team managed to withhold Russian aggression from Europe and the civilized world by improving the Ukrainian army and making the Ukrainian economy more transparent by providing lots of unpopular reforms. Poroshenko also managed to achieve visa-free travels to the EU for Ukrainians and participated actively in lots of charity projects, e. g. in 2020 his team supported some underfinanced Ukrainian hospitals with oxygen concentrators during the Coronavirus pandemic. I would definitely like to learn from him about how to negotiate from a perspective where your partners consider you weak and do not seem to support you at all.

That's a great list. Trump is definitely that guy, you either love him or hate him, but you can't deny the fact that he's a very successful man. Two of his books; The Art of the Deal and Think Big and Kickass are amazing business books.

Haven't the economic standards changed over the years in eastern Europe? Poland for example has changed drastically in the last 10-15 years in terms of their economic standards, you don't really have people there who can't afford food anymore like what it was 30 years ago, right after the fall of the Berlin Wall. If you go to Warsaw or Poznan, you'll see younger people living well off. Obviously Ukrainians are still moving to other countries(especially Poland and Germany) for more financial possibilites, Isn't Ukraine a much more developed country than what it was 15-25 years ago?

I live in Germany since 2003 so the only experience that I share about modern Ukraine is the experience of my friends and thousands of people shared in the YouTube livestreams of Ukrainian political bloggers. From what I have read about Eastern Europe, Poland improved drastically and is currently living better than Portugal. Czech Republic is also currently living at the same level as Italy.

If Ukraine continued pursuing Poroshenko's reforms that are important to reduce the impact of corruption and eventually would lead to being able to enter the NATO and the EU, over time Ukrainians would become wealthier. Lots of IT specialists and influencers now earn 1000$ a month and more in Ukraine and some senior developers in Kyiv earn around 3000$. And since Ukraine is historically a nation of free people where lots of them had their own farms, I think that lots of Ukrainians are willing to go into business as well.

The problem in Ukraine is however that Russia started a war against Ukraine so exponential economic growth is challenging. Countries like Germany struggle to spend 2% of their GDP on their army while Ukraine has to spend 5% because of war. Additionally, 15,000 people died and 1.5 million people had to leave their destroyed homes because of Russian aggression. 25% of the economic power in Ukraine was located in the Donbass region that is currently occupied and destroyed by Russian terrorists. Also, Russia and the corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs infiltrated the TV channels in Ukraine that were spreading lies about Poroshenko's corruption that were not proven by any international court. Still, a rumor is hard to remove from the peoples' minds. Manipulated by literally every TV channel 73% of Ukrainians elected the comedian Zelensky as their president in 2019 and his party has over 50% of seats in the Ukrainian parliament. That guy had zero political experience and as a president he is currently mostly pursuing the interests of oligarchs while taking away money from Ukrainian companies and people.

So now the economic standards in Ukraine became worse and close to the level of the 1990es. Buying sunflower oil in Ukraine where there are lots of sunflowers is more expensive than in Italy or even in some Atlantic islands where oil has to be shipped for distances over 2000 km. The prices of other products and especially gas have also increased. Especially people getting pensions of around 50$ a month have almost no chance to survive after Zelensky has removed the subsidiary aid. So while I would agree that the living standard in Ukraine has definitely improved a lot from the 90es when some people had to survive on 20$ a month, there is still lots of work that has to be done to significantly improve the economical situation in Ukraine.

Okay, that's good to know that it's moving in a better direction. Every country in the world should have a strong economy regardless of their ethnicity.

I think spending a day with an inspiring Infp, would be very much worth it - So my first pick is Audrey Hepburn.
Second would be to spend a day talking philosophy with Bruce Lee.
And lastly I would end this wonderful dream, in the company of Richard Feynman.- preferably in the company of some tuvan throat singers!

All three, I think could help me with one of lifes great pussles - how to be truly, present, and happy, while at the same time contributing at a large and meaningful scale. To me they genuinly seem authentic, and present, in a very inspiring way.

Bruce Lee would teach you more than just philosophy! He could also teach you Kung Fu!

Spoiler alert Spoiler alert - Snape kills trinity with rosebud...

Ok - seeing how this got no reply from Raoul at all, I'll guess Ill add it to my box of stuff I found funny but the world at large seemed less enthusiastic about =) You see, I was "playing a game" again, of how long I could keep up with this forum thread, before anyone mentioned anyone that I actually did NOT know. So you see, loosing this early to Raoul here, felt pretty bad! And upon realizing I lost not to actual people, but only fictional ones at that - I felt this epic comic was the perfect response. - becaue he "must" have wanted a response by making all 3 characters fictional... right....RIGHT. Come on Raoul, just let me know that much at least =). I figured you were testing us - to se if we would notice - and I wanted to let you know I did, and in so doing, let you know that at least Ive seen Citizen Kane. (and I kid you not - I saw Citizen Kane one evening, and the next morning was the day, this comic strip was the daily xkcd... syncronisity at its very best I would say. I laughed SO hard at this comic strip - its just TOO good. If your not laughing, its because, you dont get it - and thats why its so good - he actually made it funny, without many people thinking its funny, but THEY are wrong, and the creator is right - its a spoiler alert, that "ruins" 3 movies in like 2 seconds - epic stuff. - and rosebud is the piece your brain needs to figure it out I guess, otherwise your likely to just flat out dismiss the entire thing as just weird before realizing whats going on. Trust me - Ive shown this to many many many students 20-25 y range) just to double check that most people don't laugh)

Great thread OP! I have two for sure in my mind, but pondering my 3rd choice carefully. Bruce Lee is a strong choice from above, top ten all the way.

I'd love to speak with Elon Musk just to have a general conversation and see is factory of Tesla and some of the Space stuff. Just to see how he gets inspired to innovate.

Johnny Depp to get the perspective of his acting career and what makes a good screen writer. Since he studies them and acts out the parts.

Tarotino the Screen Writer since he just seems to have the eccentric perspective of inventing something different then what you normally see on the screen.

Henry Ford, because he seemed like the industrialist titan I’d get along best with.

Charles Koch because he’s an absolute business genius. Probably the best CEO to ever live.

Elon Musk because it would be fun and all about the future.

Im not giving up getting Koch and Musk on the KK radio show one day.

Without batteries, the shift to wind and solar, would never have happened at all. You simply CANNOT be reliant on wind and solar without being able to store much of the exess power you make when there is to much avaiable for the times when there isnt enough. - this I guess is not space X rocket sience =) But it scares me to see, how many seems to miss the fact that so much of whats not going on, is mainly caused by Elon alone - and without much support at that!. Its all about the batteries! - and while elon did not exactly invent the mobile lithium ion battery - he sure did accelerate the modern world, by putting them into a larger pack, and moving cars around with them.
People should not forget the disdain that the automotive industry met his "foolishness" with. And in so many ways Elon, reminds me of Thor Heyerdahl. And I would reccomend all who have not, to read Kon-tiki (do not bother with the film - it has nothing of the stufff you need to learn from Thor as a person) and I would reccomend you read Elons biography (that he did not write himsel btw - but its as close as we get)
I seriously doubt if most people can appreciate the amount of f*cked up shit Elon has gone through, and the ammount of resistance he's met. And yet, he just keeps on going!
Heck, I've even talked to people who goes around imagining that he has had it "easy".. wow..

If I ever buy a car, - it will be a Tesla. No doubt about it. If its at that point the worst electric car you can buy - I would still only buy a Tesla, out of respect.

Some trivial fun fact. I was seriously contemplating going heavy into tesla 3 years ago, in hindsight pretty much at the perfect moment, close to the nadir of the fall before the rise, to astronomical hights. And the MAIN reason I didn't was the single fact that I think its "just" Elon. I do not think Tesla would have survived the "hard times" without Elon at all. I think it would crumble faster than Apple did when they fired Steve Jobs!! Meaning, my investment would only have been one heart attack away from failure, and that was not acceptable to me. Its funny to look back, and feel no regret either. It matters not what I feared did not play out - in many alternative timelines, it most certainly did I guess =)

Abcause. I love his thinking. I love how he make hard things simple.
Yes, that was his greatest strength as a CEO. He know how to take very abstract things at the time and put them into life by sharing his vision. Him and Wozniak made a great duo. Wozniak is probably the most influential person that's alive right now(in terms of the technological advancement that we made because of them).

Nice to see some actors too. Actors are sort of entrepreneurs as well, just like athletes, they have to be at their best constantly. Yes, Elon Musk is up there as well.

I’d like to ask Elon Musk what’s really happening with the world - with China, with the US, with his companies, where things are headed and then get advice on my own path. He seems to be right in the middle of some massive global change that could shape everything, and I’m not saying there are conspiracies but obviously many things are confidential, which isn’t much different than being a “conspiracy.”

The Koch brothers, for their experience building a family-owned, private, massive industrial conglomerate. I want to know where they came from, how they started, and what they see in the future for their company.

Ben Mallah, to talk about real estate, investing, leverage, and how he really got started when he owned no properties.

George Washington, to discuss the state of the world, the country, and where we should go from here. I know this might seem odd, but I would love to be able to meet with G Wash, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin and just talk about all of the current issues of the day and hear their thoughts... wow!

Jordan Peterson - his opinion on personal relationships and growth would be priceless. I can’t imagine what he charges as a therapist now but I’d imagine it’s worth even more than that.

Last but the most important, talking to God. I don’t have the best faith, and I want to do better. I wish I had a direct line of communication with Him, because mine seems fuzzy.

That’s more than 3, oh well.
Oh yes man, to be able to have a conversation with the three men that literally shaped America would be such an honour. Just imagine sitting with all three of them at Starbucks for a quick chat! Yikes!

They fought for freedom for their nation. Just imagine how different America would be if it were still in control under the British rulers.

Yup, I would love to know what they think about the way things are now. Give them time to analyze all of history since they were around and get accustomed to everything, and then hear what they think should be done about 2021.

It might be surprising.

I can't remember this as I'm too young to remember when Jobs got fired, but I remember watching Pixar movies on TV as a toddler, and I just found out that he was the guy who created Pixar, just wow.

But yeah, it was quite evident how Apple went downhill once Jobs left in 1985. There's a famous saying that I might be misquoting; "You want to take down an army? Kill the leader first and the army surrenders". With Tesla it's a little different, they already have very solid foundations in place for the future.

Tesla really did change the game though. Remember how it was back in the mid-late 2000s? No one wanted to buy electric cars, they were shit and boring. That was until Elon joined Tesla as their 3rd employee(Martin Eberhard is the original founder), and made it upstream; starting with the Tesla Roadster, which was a big deal back then. Everyone was doubting him, even the big car manufacturers wanted to eradicate Tesla from earth's sphere. And also SpaceX. There's his famous story where he had to choose between Tesla and Space, otherwise they would go bankrupt, but he decided to put his last dollars into both. At the time, he had to borrow money from his friends and parents just to survive, and hope his plan would work. It did.

There's a fun story in his book; When DiCaprio wanted one but Elon denied him, telling him to get a spot on the waiting list for the Roadster. And then they created the Model S, which became the best selling car in 2013(correct me if I'm wrong). And the rest is history. Every car manufacturer copies what Tesla does to a large degree.

Don't forget his older businesses in his mid twenties-early thirties; Zip2 and PayPal, these business concepts were foreign at the time, nobody believed in the internet but he and others did too. He saw what was coming, and now the internet is everywhere. Internet is also the fastest way today to become wealthy, it creates multimillionaires and billionaires in less than 5-10 years. And it's a fact. What took 10 years to achieve in the past, can now be done in 2 years.

I mean we both live in Norway, you see electric cars here everywhere. Isn't Norway the country that has the highest concentration of electric cars in Europe? It was for Tesla a couple years back, might be different now.

Yup, I would love to know what they think about the way things are now. Give them time to analyze all of history since they were around and get accustomed to everything, and then hear what they think should be done about 2021.

It might be surprising.
The first thing they'd do is to get rid of this propaganda TV that we have now. The news is not the same what it used to be 20-30 years back.

Alexander the Great: by the time he was my age he had conquered the known world and commanded such intense loyalty from his men The Greatest Speech In History?

Elizabeth I: was born into what seemed like a hopeless situation for her rule, England's economy was in shambles and was a minor power in Europe. Against all the odds she turned it all around and repelled the Spanish Armada with an inferior naval force. Never married so she could play the power game with all her suitors, spoke multiple languages, etc. I feel like she could teach a thing or two about dealing with people.

Cornelius Vanderbilt: not only one of the wealthiest people ever, but also a real man's man who came from nothing.

People usually fail , and with great margins at that when it comes to predicting the speed of changes. Even so called clever people do this over and over again - thinking change will be linear, when in reality, its inherent in its nature to be more like an exponential thing. Look at Nokia... just HOW fast they were out of business. Kodac? The list goes on, and on - changes are NOT usually linear, even though we like to imagine they are. Here is a little clue, 90% of ALL cars sold in norway in september were electric or hybrid(way more electric than hybrid though) and only 10% of the cars sold, either diesel or gasoline. And remember, - Norway, is a land with a pretty large part of its population living out in the districs, and its COLD - like winter wonderland cold. So not exactly the place you'd think would be willing to adopt electric cars at all. But its done, and what happened fast here, will happen even FASTER later on in other countries.

Yep, no one can really predict the future. We can control it indirectly in a way but not really as humans are extremely unpredictable. That's right, most Norwegians do live in the districts of major cities). Norway, in the grand scheme of things, is a tiny country when it comes to population, but it adapted very quickly on part with the ecological trends, especially with electric cars. Imagine if all of the sudden China or India changed their government laws, only allowing electric/hybrid vehicles to pass in their areas... The world would go nuts. Supply for electric cars would reach zero extremely quickly, causing abruption around the globe.
