I have an energy product by one of my new partnerships that I am able to sell to residences at $100 per close. Normally I do not like to do residential because it is usually a pain in the a$$ and you don't see your advertising return for 6 months, but this setup may provide some additional cashflows for little more time spent while my sales reps continue to sell commercial stuff.
The idea was to originally just not leave money on the table when someone asks for resi service. So I made an arrangement with one of my partner providers so that I could have anyone who goes to the resi portion of my web site forwarded to them for a commission and no further correspondence on my part.
Now I am wondering if I can set up a landing page for this one particular product and send PPC ads to it if I could see a return. My old stats with these pertaining keywords CPC was usually around $3 when I was burning FAST, I usually got 1/10 visitors to sign the contract and 50% of them would pass credit. This works out to about $60 per acquisition, not too bad, but I KNOW it can be better.
Does anyone have any best practices to get this thing to 50-60% margins? Ad phrasing suggestions? Landing page suggestions? Should I try Bing ads?
I figure if I can turn a good profit on $1000 or so I will bump up ad caps to $5000. I would simply like to find an equilibrium where I can let it run without touching it and just make money.
