Who has joined a business related group on Meetup.com?

I am thinking of joining a couple groups related to business on the meetup.com website (quite a few of them are around since I'm in the LA area, some with 200+ members) If any of your guys have been to one of these meetings, do you feel it was productive, or more of a salesy/motivational type of meeting?

I am about to start one in my area. I would rather be in control of the structure/content. Plus I feel @MJ DeMarco would consider it more fastlane to crate your own rather than join someone elses!
