Hi everyone, I'm a new member of the Fastlane forum. I'm just 23yo and recently graduated.
After reading The Millionaire Fastlane , I'm continuously seeking the Fastlane opportunity to replace my 9-5 job.
I'm currently living in a city with a high population density; therefore, houses in the city center are quite cramped. Because it is so cramped, fires often occur and cause many deaths. According to some reports I read online, there were up to 90 large and small fires in just one month. Recently, big fires from mini-apartments have killed 50 people.
My business idea is to create a website about housing and boarding houses where the information about the houses is carefully checked for safety and fire safety. Normally, students and workers search for information about boarding houses on social networks like Facebook. They only have information about the boarding house address and some pictures, but there are almost no issues related to safety. Then, they will have to go to that address to check if the pictures posted are true or not. The service that I do business with is checking and evaluating these boarding houses, so they will not have to worry about having to check each boarding house anymore. And the website providing information, pictures, and a safety rating index for each boarding house is completely free; the profit earned will be taken from the advertising placed on the website.
Is this a Fastlane business model? The city I live in is home to many universities and companies, so there are a lot of immigrants coming in, and the demand for housing is very high. If I were to rate it myself (based on the CENTS principle):
N: pretty high (8/10) - the city I live in has 8.5 million people, about 1/3 of whom are immigrants from other provinces. According to statistics from 2020, there are up to 630,000 college students (who have high demand for rental housing).
E: 6/10 - It’s easy to make a website nowadays, but going to and checking safety information, updating pictures and actual reviews of each boarding house is very time-consuming and laborious.
C: 5/10 - I have control of the quality of my service, but in terms of making money, I depend on Google AdSense.
S: ?/10 - I don't know how to evaluate this category yet, maybe expand business to other big cities in the country, but after that I need to hire more people to check and review each boarding house for me.
T: ?/10 - This is very time consuming in the early years, but if I get a large number of visitors and can sell the website or hire someone to manage it for me, I can separate myself from the business.
I have never had experience with AdSense before, so I am wondering if this site can make a lot of money from ads.
