Hi How's it going.
I'm in the process of Launching a new health and fitness website- the revenue model is based on monthly membership subscriptions.
I'm looking at charging £14.99per month for full access to the site. This is a figure that I have chosen to work with based on the value offered to customers for the service, compared with what competitors are charging. My site offers more benefits, more convenience, a greater wealth of information and will be executed better than even the most expensive competitors. Should I offer a flat £14.99 monthly fee across the board or offer discounts as an incentive for those wishing to pay for 3 to 6 months up front?
I'm also reviewing the contract options too- should I keep members on a monthly rolling contract i.e pay as you use it. Or keep members fixed in to a 12month contract like with a gym membership?
I've noticed that lovefilm.com (a u.k version of netflix)have recently scrapped their 12month fixed contract policy.
I need to find the right balance for each of these 2 issues. Please can you help me, I'm also very interested in seeing any case studies or examples. Thanks very much
Phil
