That's not that incomprehensible. Look at it from the supplier's point of view. They had an existing order from customer a. They probably think that now customer a doesn't want to honor that order, and instead wants the same order at a lower price.Thank you for sharing that but the seller in your case simply changed their mind. That's very common is business.
In my case the buyer already had an agreement with the seller yet they went through me and got a lower price for the same goods from the seller. I had no idea they even knew each other. When the seller found out who the buyer was they would not sell at the lower agreed upon price with me. That's not common. It's incomprehensible.
The cool thing is you clearly have better negotiating skills than both these guys.
