Hi folks,
I'm in the process of developing a project website I hope to monetize in the future. To cut a long story short it's a 'classified ads' type website, combined with a business directory to allow local companies to promote themselves. In addition to this, I would like my users to be able to upload their own videos and include them in with an advert. This is where I require some guidance.
I've noticed some of the larger classified ad websites such as Gumtree.com have a feature that will allow a user to integrate a video in with their advert through YouTube, however I want to be different, ideally hosting the videos myself. My problem at the minute is that I am currently on a set budget and I have absolutely no idea how costly video hosting actually is. A few individuals have mentioned FLV (Flash Video) which sounds a cheaper option and somewhat interesting if my host allows video transcoding, it's all quite daunting and I don't know where to begin.
Any help is greatly appreciated on this matter.
