I'm about halfway through Unscripted.
Throughout the book there have been a lot of new words, concepts and phrases introduced. As well as words and phrases that have been re-defined under the Unscripted framework.
Thought it would be cool to have a thread where we share our favorite words and phrases from the book.
It would help to reinforce the "updated" definition/perspective in our day to day lives.
I'll start with mine so far--
Temporal Prostitution: subordination of time to money; the presumption that time is unlimited and can be fecklessly traded, squandered and dishonored, while money is piously coveted. (pg. 55, Unscripted).
Joe: Yo I heard Dairy King is giving away free ice cream today.
Juan: Cool, let's stop by real quick
* 5 minutes later *
Joe: Damn, look at the line!
Juan: Temporal prostitution gone rampant in these streets!
Joe: Call the cops!
"Money Doesn't Buy Happiness": a popular phrase uttered by ivory tower academics, pop psychologists, and idealistic millenials who've resigned to a fate of financial mediocrity. (my interpretation).
Bruno: I'm gonna hustle and get rich!
Stu: Bro, money doesn't buy you happiness, everybody knows that..
Bruno: Then what makes you happy?
Stu: Sharing with others, being a good person, and making the world a better place.
Bruno: Well, money makes me happy. Wanna be a good person and share yours with me?
Stu: Hell naw!
I drew some inspiration from Urban Dictionary.
