Firstly, I am glad to have found this website. Two years back I read “Unscripted ”, shaping my mindset in a mysterious way. Finding this website feels like it has come full circle. A big thanks to @MJ DeMarco for this incredible opportunity, not only for me but everybody seeking for advice and support on the topic of becoming financially free!
My name is Dan, I’m 27, and have been living in Germany my whole life and always have been interested in learning to connective process of a business. During my scholarship (19-23) as a Packaging Technologist, I’ve got the chance to learn to operate every machine in the factory, work in every area to find out about the processes and got to be versatile in my usage.
Even though it was not my job to improve work flow and efficiency of the company, I still enjoyed delving into these topics a lot.
A former friend of mine introduced me to the world of enterpreneurs. Once you see it work to sell a skill well, the mindset of “only a good job brings good money” seemed obsolete.
My mind got distracted by a job opportunity as a Laser Cutting Technician (24-27), especially with finally being paid well. I again excelled in my profession, already taking over shifts after a month of employment by endulging in my curiosity of learning about the processes of the company.
Enthusiasm turned into a liability when the shift manager developed a vendetta against me. I tried the “work less, blend more” strategy, but that’s not how I am. Soon I was in a job, restricted to do anything outside of my designated job.

Around the age of 25, I stumbled upon the books “Comfort Crisis”, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, and conincidentally, “Unscripted ”. Suddenly I’ve found ways to live my passion in its fullest by working on my own projects!
Since 2020, I got to work as a content creator for Youtube, german/english tutor, fitness coach and musician.
The excecution and motivation were there, it did not converted into value properly. I’ve made a staggering profit of 150€ from my projects in 2021 and 2022 from video editing, photoshop and coaching, compared to the expenses of around 2.000€.
I never stopped working on my projects and kept on improving. My main skillset of video editing (including light management, scripting and directing), audio engineering, online marketing, 3D- and 2D-animation, alongside being able to play 13 instruments (and getting the experience being on stage) and offer coaching / consulting.

One of my biggest hurdles was connecting and socializing. I’d rather stay up all night working on a formula for easier financial tracking for my business than to hang out with my best friend.
Having used my living room as a music and filming studio mirrors my area of enjoyment.
After moving together with my sister in February 2023 due to the interest in working together on projects, splitting living expenses and having a better immediate social group, I began to understand the freedom a team provides. Networking has since then became of top priority!
I’ve had the dream to live in the US at least once in my life-time. Being US / Ger, getting an american passport was one of the easier tasks.
Planning the move with my sister, her cat and me, preparing our personal belongings, selling most of it and getting a car and an apartment abroad, all of it in a two months notice, to be able to spend Christmas with our family in the US, seemed near impossible.

I’ve been living in America for six weeks now and working as a video editor. I am more motivated to fulfill my dreams of owning my own business than ever!
Already connecting with local business owners, we’ve had our fair share of introduction and warm welcomes to this country.
At this point now, we are putting our best work forward, making it happen in 2024!
