You can hate someone all you want but that doesn't justify puting their life at stake. Also I never said that the majority of the left are like that. I was specifically talking about those extremists. People are justified to hate Jeff Bezos because he exploits his workers with bad working conditions, unrealistic time limits that cause people to shit in bags, pee in water bottles, be unable to eat, have decent breaks, etc. 15 dollars doesn't get you by everywhere, yet he can afford to pay his workers better wages despite his company not paying taxes on its profits. Society needs to judge rich people on a case by case basis, not off of negative stereotypes. The capitalist class is the reason poor people exist, granted, but not every capitalist exploits and creates poor people out of their pursue of profits. Also if you believe capitalism cannot be amended and believe that it is just unethical to be rich no matter how you look at it, then you should not be pursuing the Fastlane imo. Fastlane is for capitalists supporters only.Wtf? Do you know not every leftist is a revolutionary, right?
Everyone who is a reformist and wants Jeff dead "only" wants Jeff dead because he's one of the most disgusting people with power on Earth. That's the big majority, by far, of the first group - everyone who wants Jeff dead. And that petition is kind of a joke, anyway.
60k's people is also a joke. It only had attention from the media because "the name sell's". Now put a joke on the top of another joke.
Honestly, I understand that you defend the existence of billionaires, and I'll not argue with you on that, but you need to understand what the other group is saying, and when is a joke, and not, and when the media is just selling articles and is trying to inform you, otherwise you're just treating politics like you would treat a sport, for example.
TL;DR: almost no one wants Jeff dead, and is only hysteria.
Technically the U.S. gets in the left and right side trap. Fortunately, from my observation in 2020 with protests, you have more then the left and right agenda, since we actually have more cultural diversity, different populations, different generations, different political agendas, religious/spiritual agenda's, you even have social entrepreneurs, business entrepreneurs, and spiritual/religious entrepreneurs that function differently in society.According to this article, at least 60,000 people have signed a petition to not have Jeff Bezos to return to Earth, because he's a billionaire, and according to their logic, billionaires should not exist because they exploited their way in to their fortunes and that Jeff Bezos is a Lex Luthor who wants world domination. Like god damn we get it that you hate rich people but don't go to the extreme of wanting them dead. But tbh Jeff Bezos does exploit his workers. He has even admitted to failing his employees in his last shareholder letter.
Over 60,000 sign petitions to stop Jeff Bezos from returning to Earth
Days after Jeff Bezos announced that he and his brother Mark would fly on his space tourism company’s first passenger flight, two petitions launched calling to prevent him from coming back ho…nypost.com
Look, I didn't study/read (I will just enumerate a few and mostly leftist literature) Chomsky, Foucault, Robert Reich, Varoufakis, Marx, all the history of the "golden capitalism", the nordic model, how the IMF was founded and what divergences there were at the beginning, for you to equal co-op = left; not co-op = right and starting a paragraph with "all I'm saying".All I'm saying is is that if the nature of capitalism affects your moral consciousness that much then you may not want to do that, otherwise you may experience severe episodes of cognitive dissonance. Imo if you're a democratic socialist, it would be in direct contradiction of your ideology to own a business under a capitalist structure. That's like being against slavery yet you own slaves for the conveniences that being a slave owner brings you, not because you're being forced to be one. So you're left with either staying working class, doing what Bernie Sanders did and sell something at scale without a business around it, or create a co-op. I have yet to known of a case of someone achieving Fastlane under a co-op.
I don't agree with civil wars, and with the need of using violence. I believe we need to change things democratically. There have literally been people that showed up to Jeff Bezos' house with a guillotine... Wow. This entire thread is such utter nonsense that I can’t even handle it.
All I'm saying is is that if the nature of capitalism affects your moral consciousness that much then you may not want to do that, otherwise you may experience severe episodes of cognitive dissonance. Almost everyone on the left hate (=/= wishing their dead) everyone on the top 10 of Forbes list, and that's why it seems the left hate all billionaires, or millionaires. Because people are talking about them all the item - they're pop icons (some billionaires not so much, like the Founder of Inditex - maybe not the best example, but I guess it makes the point of different popularity).
Actually, the left doesn't hate the middle upper class, not even wants them to earn less money, and even some millionaires can be considered exploited and underpaid even in marxist terms (ex: singers and football players).
The anti-capitalist left hates the system. Is not true that there are millionaires that didn't exploited the workers in the terms the left use to refere as "exploitation", but because the terms are different, it is also not true that everyone who exploit it's workers are bad people. Even anarchists like Chomsky see CEOs as "not free enough" to do what they really believe in, because they're too much controlled by the board, and by the need to survive (as a company).
The last phrase is ridiculous. Saying "fastlane" is not for anti-capitalists, it's the equivalent of saying "if you're anti-capitalist, you can't participate in society". The basis of democracy is having different conceptions for our society, and still accept whatever the majority wants to do (if we live in a democracy, or not, that's another subject BUT you can't defend democracy and defend that anti-capitalists can't participate in the same society as you, and use the same tools as you, only because they want a different society).
Also, not all the left is anti-capitalist, so you need to be careful with that equation.
I actually am a believer that all the left is anti-capitalist, but other people on the left disagree with me, so, I am saying that this is not consensual. If you can argue that they're equivalent, go ahead, but you need to be aware of that fact.
I am not gonna discuss this further with you because it seems you are hyper offended by what I said. I digress.Look, I didn't study/read (I will just enumerate a few and mostly leftist literature) Chomsky, Foucault, Robert Reich, Varoufakis, Marx, all the history of the "golden capitalism", the nordic model, how the IMF was founded and what divergences there were at the beginning, for you to equal co-op = left; not co-op = right and starting a paragraph with "all I'm saying".
I'm truly sorry if the only thing you saw was Youtube videos like the "Soho Forum" debate and you think you know about the topic. You need to read books and research like anyone else.
And you clearly don't understand the concept of power dynamics and how societies change from within.
