Hello, my name is Zachary Alexander and I am the owner and creator of Cuarzo Contemporary Trends. I am currently a freshman in college, but do not feel that my way of life and needs in life fit the exact definition of a college graduate. I have, from a young age, always been interested in the idea that maybe one day I will be able to create something that I love and have a job that I love to share with others who enjoy it as much as I do. I am creating this thread as a personal documentation of my struggles, failures, and successes. If along the way this helps you as well, then great. I will be posting a weekly update of three things; one, What my objectives were for the week. Second, what worked for me and what did not. Lastly what I need to do for the next week.

As this is my first week (Thursday March 3 2016), I will only be posting my goals for this week.

Goals for the Week​

• Find a style of business plan that will work for my business and needs for the future.
• Re-invent the mind set I have when concerning the thoughts of others.
• Learn what it takes to implement a successfull business plan.
• Construct a rough business plan that will change throughout the growth of my business.
• Research forums for marketing ideas and opportunities.

As to give you some back ground up to now; I started my business around January 2nd of 2016, with the name Cuarzo Contemporary Trends. I have made many mistakes up to this point of which are listed here:

Jumping into the game too quickly

I had completely underestimated what it would actually take to turn my idea into a reality. My original plan had been simple, create a website that was capable of showing off an array of cheap china wholesale clothing (of which I would buy for cheap) and then re-sale for much more. Simple, right?

Lack of marketing knowledge

So I created the website, got my tax id number and was ready set to sell so much clothing that I would be rolling in cash. Unfortunately it did not turn out as such. I had an instagram with plenty of followers that liked my clothing and links to my website, but still nothing.

No clear end goal

During these beginning stages I had no clear goal, I knew that I wanted to make money off of someone else's product, so that there would be no need for a large warehouse. I wanted it to be online, but eventually move into a physical location. Beyond this I had no clue what I wanted.


This is only the start and I am taking a complete re-evaluation of my business and what I want for it. it is going to be a long process and please bear with me for the first couple of weeks as I gain my strength and confidence back and learn how to use these forums.
