The alien in the room

Like the title of this thread suggests: I want to address the alien in the room.

Ever since I realized I didn't belong in the 9-5 live 10 years ago and I figured that there just had to be so much more to life than working from Monday to Friday, I've felt like an alien.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a person as unique as any other. But the moment it happened, the moment I like to refer to as "The Enlightenment", I just knew life would never be the same again.
There's this popular image circulating on Instagram stating "Set goals so big you feel uncomfortable telling them to people". I can relate. But as @MJ DeMarco states that time is the most important asset in this universe, I've never bothered telling anyone about my goals.
This has lead me to a physical and mental world of Me, Myself and I. But we are social creatures us humans, and every now and then human contact and a deep conversation with peers and like-minded people fills our souls and recharges our batteries.

What to do when like-minded people are not around? Do we keep feeling like an alien, do we accept the status of pariah, how do we stay strong as a shark in an ocean of fish?
