Hey team.
My name is Nick. I am currently a tennis coach in Seattle, Washington.
I became a tennis coach back in 2007 simply out of necessity.
I was -600$ and had to borrow money from my mom to pay my rent.
I vowed that I would never be in that situation again and so dove head first into coaching thinking that with my tennis background, I could find a way to support myself in a relatively short period of time.
I also had some experience teaching tennis as a junior tennis player in the Caribbean summers.
To get going, I posted some ads on Craigslist and began giving away business cards. The deal I made with perspective clients was, I’d give them a tennis lesson at no cost if they would simply give away five of my business cards to anyone they thought would be interested.
Eventually my card got in the hands of someone who worked at a tennis center. He got in touch with me and asked me to come down for an interview because they were looking for another coach to join the staff.
I interviewed and got the job.
From there I slowly built a clientele, and eventually, a large following.
So here I am almost 16 years later staying true to vow I made to never again borrow money from my mom.
However, after 16 years of coaching, I’m no longer satisfied with what I’m earning as a coach.
I feel like there’s more out there and I’m tired of the daily grind that coaching entails.
Im also a slave to the tennis facilities, and when I’m coaching outdoors, the weather (here in Seattle, it’s not always great).
Im inspired by MJs work and am excited to join this community of positive individuals who are committed to creating a better life for themselves and their families.
I don’t yet have a clear idea of what step to take next, but I know that being a part of the community will shine a light on the path since it is filled with men and women who have already walked the journey.
Thank you for sharing yourselves and for creating an opportunity for people like me to learn from you.
Hope to connect with you soon.
All the best,
Nick
