I was about to cold call.
I really didn't want to.
I was practically home alone, brother sleeping upstairs.
A solid 30 minute block before I had to leave for school
But my mind started making excuses, and did mental gymnastics to justify them.
I took a snack, distracted myself with some Youtube video.
But I felt that silent buzz in the background "What are you doing?!".
I actively pushed away the truth: that I just should cold call.
I told myself two lies.
One that I didn't need to cold call. And the second that i didn't lie to myself.
But I knew, just as every lier knows, that i was telling a lie.
I thought "I don't want to live a lie. How miserable won't my existence be if I lie to myself?"
So I broke it.
When you catch yourself lying to yourself, instantly break it or you'll live a lie.
The only thing you gain is temporary comfort that will quickly fade and be replaced by a chaos.
You lose self respect, self love, integrity, results and peace.
No lier is truly at peace. Ever.
Lying to yourself is the fastest way to hating yourself and feeling worthless.
You actively ignore the truth in order to live a comfortable lie. But that is not entirely possible.
You can ignore the truth and deny it for some time, but the negative effects will compound and your integrity will collapse.
You can pretend that you didn't actively choose the wrong option. But reality does not care what you pretend.
Neither does your peace, or your subconcious, or your self respect or your identity.
In reversal of self deception, we have intellectual honesty. Truthfulness.
If instead of trying to ignore something out of existence, you accept it as the truth and make the most of it, you will gain self respect, self love, integrity, results and peace.
Truth is painful, illusion is comfortable.
Truth is harsh, illusion is not,
Truth is by definition the truth, illusion is not.
Truth will lead you where you want to go, illusion will not.
Truth is the current state of reality, illusion is your fantasy.
Hiding from the truth means hiding from yourself, and that is something we are uncapable of.
Tear down your illusions. What lies have you told yourself? Strip them down and live in reality.
