Targeting customers outside my area

Hello guys
I live in quite a remote area in eastern europe which limits my business opportunities especially when it comes to starting from scratch with little budget. I had to choose something without location limits so i picked web design/web development as i already had coding experience.

There are several causes that make me prefer to offer my services to clients outside of my country:
- There is just no or very few potential clients here
- I would earn several times more
- In my country cold calling or messaging was much overused by scammers and there is no chances to get any customers by doing that now

I won't offer high ticket services, earning just a few hundreds $ a month would be a game changer for me. But how would the lack of physical contact affect the client's trust? If anyone has tried this and would like to share the results, i'd appreciate it.
