I would suggest doing some research in the quantity of detailers in your area and also trying to figure out the quality of service they provide. It requires some work. I’ve actually called up competitors and acted like I was a potential client to gauge prices and scope of service offered. See how you can differentiate yourself and add better value. For example cheaper pricing is one value skew, but it isn’t always the best. From a psychology standpoint with consumers, people perceive that if they are paying more, the service must be better. Just do your best with skewing value. Also figuring out your target market will be a good start as well because then that can help you figure out the best strategy for marketing and promotion. Do you plan to be a mobile detailer? Will you go to them? Are you willing to provide pick up and delivery of the cleaned vehicle to them if they are busy and pressed for time. Do you plan to just cater to auto dealership and car rental business, etc? Are you willing to also do larger vehicles? I think any business is a good start granted it isn’t over saturated, but even with that noted…….execution excellence is where it’s at. Good luck
